Sometimes in sport you just feel that no matter how a team starts there are some teams that will find a way to capitulate.

I remember years ago my mates were at a Richmond Tigers game (AFL reference sorry non Australians) (pre Dustin martin and winning premierships - you know when they always finished 9th and no one cared about them). They told me about this Richmond supporter head to toe in black and yellow, truest of true believers. This guy he left at 3/4 time and he just yelled out loud “capitulate, capitulate, that’s all you lads know how to do, capitulate”.

Now I’m not saying that’s all we know how to do....
But we do love to capitulate, in complete control of the chase, lose our heads and lose the game once again.

End of over 10 (4 runs) - UAE(72-1). 54 runs required from 10 overs. RR 7.20 RRR 5.40
I. Saad 23 (21b), J. Ghayth 48 (38b), D. Clark (rf) 2-0-10-0

Fantastic!

End of over 16 (2 runs) - UAE(102-5). 24 runs required from 4 overs. RR 6.38 RRR 6.00
K. Aziz 0 (3b), G. Ka'im 11 (9b), R. Thunder (rfm) 3-0-20-1

Now I’m panicking!

End of over 17 (maiden) - UAE(102-8). 24 runs required from 3 overs. RR 6.00 RRR 8.00
K. Wajih 0 (1b), K. Aziz 0 (3b), I. Newton (lf) 3-1-15-4

Sir Isaac Newton takes a triple maiden and roots our chase completely.

End of over 20 (1 run) - UAE(122-10). 4 runs required from 0 overs. RR 6.10 RRR 0.00
I. Alim 1 (1b), R. Thunder (rfm) 3.3-0-21-3

💔

Tour Match # 3
VS 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
Result: 💔
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 win by 3 runs

The Match in a tweet: CAPITULATE, CAPITULATE, CAPITULATE!

Man of the Match: Isaac Newton 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Our best: Mu’adh Khaleel - 2/16 off 4 overs including a maiden. He got Scotland’s number 2 and number 3!

Google tells me “Khaleel” translates roughly to “friend”. And boy oh boy if khaleel bowls like this he will be my very best friend. Let’s just remember he’s only 25! Very excite!

Imtiyaz Alim - 2/23 off his 4 overs. Bowled well.

Jaul Ghayth - 48 and his 68 run partnership with Saad had us looking in control. Would have been nice to see Jaul bat a little deeper.

Tune in at 1530 as we take on South Africa and look to salvage something from this tour.

Another tough day at the office for the lads. Batted okay but just weren’t able to contain South Africa. Hossein which literally translates to “Handsome” and my word was he handsome today. A wonderful 100.

Tour Match # 4
VS South Africa
Result: boo
South Africa win by 6 wickets

The Match in a tweet: That is 100 runs for Hossein (100 runs, 64b, 9x4, 2x6) SR:156.25 That’s it that’s the tweet.

Man of the Match: Sharad Hossein 🇦🇪

Our best: Hossein - batted through the innings for his wonderful 109 off 70 balls.

Wakil Turq - 2/38 from his 4 overs.

Gadil Ka’im - 49 not out off 35 balls and a catch.

Around the Grounds:
Canada beat Zimbabwe by 31 runs.
Sri Lanka beat Scotland by 27 runs.

The State of Play:
Sri Lanka regardless of tomorrow’s results.
2nd is between Canada (who we play) and Scotland (who play South Africa).
Sri Lanka play Zimbabwe in a dead rubber.

Tune in at 15.30 tomorrow as we take on Canada.

Glad you’re enjoying Khaleel. I’ve enjoyed developing him over the past few seasons

Now I just need a new friend. Preferably a fast bowler who can fill in every Nat tour. :D

Thanks Jacko! Wouldn’t mind another Khaleel in the national side. :hug :hug

Another day, another loss.

Not an easy week to be a UAE fan. I’ll post the write up and a tour summary in the next day or so. Thanks for tuning in. 🙏🏻

Good to see you staying honest and supporting the side as you said you would :thumbsup

Hopefully we can get a few wins in the next tour for you to enjoy your stay a bit more.

Unlucky this week lads. It happens.

He is going to be touring every tour forever unfortunately mate so you'll definitely need one. He's our only fast bowler. Very glad you've developed him otherwise we'd be even worse off which seems impossible

I cant see things getting much better short term which is hard to say. We are probably going to have to try and chuck in a very under developed AR for the next tour because we don't have any of real NT quality just to try and achieve some depth. If we get certain pitches for the next tour then I wouldnt recommend us being competitive but I live in hope!

Set your expectations really low and you’ll always be happy - either you’ll be right or you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

5 tour matches = 5 losses.

Seriously outrated by Canada and it showed unfortunately. My friend Khaleel the shining light with the ball and a few bats got starts without going big.

Tour Match # 5
VS 🇨🇦
Result:🍁🍁
Canada win by 6 wickets

The Match in a tweet: Not a good week for the UAE skippers, only winning the coin toss once. Everyone knows you win t20 at the coin toss.

Man of the Match: Caiden Dale 🍁
A century for the classy Canadian captain Caiden.

Our best:
My friend my friend Mu’adh Khaleel
If you haven’t worked it out I like this lad a lot.
2/27 off his 4 overs on an absolute highway.

Our top 3 all got starts but sadly no one could capitalise on those. Two runouts for the two openers is also disappointing.

That’s a wrap. Thank you for tuning in (I’m assuming there are people tuning in from the occasion comments).

Don’t forget Youth T20 Tour starts Monday - that’s also in Septemberi Lanka so matches start at 5.30 (same as this week).

Ooohh almost forgot.

Around the Grounds:
Scotland beat South Africa by 22 runs.
Sri Lankan and Zimbabwe ended in a draw.

Congrats to Sri Lanka and Canada who both secured promotion.

Another senior tour starts Monday and I’ll do a pre-tour write up shortly.

But first I just have one question:

“May I speak to champ”

It would be nice to see Saad make a difference this week considering he's the most capped player on tour.

Really hoping he does mate. Solid player too and getting us off to good starts could be massive on these decks.

Our bowlers put in one great performance. If the batsmen don't see this out this would be typical us
