Hard lines, that 4-5 over period where we got smashed in the 1st inns after a good start was the difference.
One of those games where you're ahead of the worm with a few overs left but you know you're not going to accelerate in the same way

Yeh we never got that massive over like they did. Mahmood isn't exactly the same strength as the rest of them either but we need to make sure him and Khaleel are ready to lead the attack for future seasons. Those two are going to be key for the future.

See if we can bounce back tomorrow.

No dice! Go down to Zimbabwe by 10 runs!

Tour Match # 2
VS Zimbabwe ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ผ
Result: :thumbsdown
Zimbabwe won by 10 runs.

The Match in a tweet: Lovemore runs and he runs and runs. Zimbabwean โ€œLovemore Bunjiraโ€ made 73 runs! What a name!

Man of the Match: Kaliq Aziz (UAE)
2 Wickets and 32 runs!

Our best:
Kaliq Aziz - 2/38 off his 4 overs including a maiden and a handy 32 runs as he tried his best to get us home in the chase.

Kamil Salah - the 25 year old took two catches with the gloves and made a handy 38 before being out in the most unfortunate way โ€œhit ball twiceโ€.

Around the Grounds:
South Africa beat Kenya by 17 runs.
Ireland beat Scotland by 8 runs.

The ladder is getting interesting - South Africa sit clear with 2 wins and Kenya sit clear at the bottom winless - all other teams with 1 win. See you at 10.00 tomorrow as we take on Ireland.

Couldn't have asked for a better start!

Winner winner chicken dinner!

Tour Match # 3
VS Ireland ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช
Result: :thumbsup
UAE won by 6 wickets.

The Match in a tweet: 2 wickets in the first 2 overs!

Man of the Match: Rais Armanjani (UAE)
2 Wickets

Our best:
Rais Armanjani - 2/16 off his 4 overs. Dominant bowling from the tweaker.

Shaquille Rahman - a wonderful 47 from the opener!

Amir Alam - 1/12 off his 4 overs.

Kamal Qassem - 2/19 off his 4 overs.

A wonderful bowling effort particularly from the spinners and then our batsmen uncharacteristically made a chase look easy getting the job done with 4 overs to spare.

Around the Grounds:
Kenya beat Zimbabwe by 8 wickets.
Scotland beat South Africa by 67 runs.

Sir Isaac Newtown with a five fa for Scotland.

We sit at the top of the tree with a better NRR than both Scotland and South Africa who also both have 2 wins. Unfortunately we play both of them in the next two matches and would need to win both to guarantee promotion. The other three teams are all equal on one win.

See you at 10.00 tomorrow as we take on Scotland.

That was nice to see! Both young keepers been doing well too. Passing more then failing and contributing with the bat a little too!

Shadi has been solid so far too. Replaced Haqq extremely well and hoping he'll be a big contributer to our fortunes over the next few.

Let's see if we can push on.

That was such an odd chase. Low score and looked comfortable early. Just threw away wickets for no reason.

Yep. We are good at that. Nice to see us not bothering to change  thought we would sail through that.

:wall :wall

I mean it wouldnโ€™t be a tour if we didnโ€™t have a collapse during a doable chase.

Tour Match # 4
VS Scotland ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ
Result: :thumbsdown
Scotland won by 33 runs.

The Match in a tweet: You donโ€™t often see all 20 wickets fall in a T20.

Man of the Match: Hamish Galt (SCO)
4 Wickets and a catch!

Our Best!
Kamal Qassem - 4/26 off his 4 overs including 2 from 2 balls.

Rais Armanjani - 3/14 off his 4 overs and a catch.

Imtiyaz Alim - 2/40 off his 4 overs and a catch.

The spinners couldnโ€™t have done much better, bowling Scotland our for 132. Sadly batsmen thought we had a rest day.

Around the Grounds:
Ireland beat Kenya by 7 wickets.
South Africa beat Zimbabwe by 14 runs.

That leaves one match day and 4 teams mathematically can still finish in the promotion slots. Which means everyoneโ€™s fave segment.

METHODS OF MADNESS AND MATHEMATICS WITH MOOSE

Games Tomorrow
UAE VS SOUTH AFRICA
ZIMBABWE VS IRELAND
KENYA VS SCOTLAND

South Africa/Scotland have 3 wins
Ireland/UAE have 2 wins
Kenya/Zimbabwe have 1 win

Ours is the worst NRR of the 4. ~0.6 worse than Scotland and ~ 0.25 worse than Ireland/South Africa.

So scenarios.

We lose tomorrow against South Africa = all over red rover. Could finish as low as bottom if Kenya and Zimbabwe managed massive upsets.

We win tomorrow = a slim chance. We would move equal wins with South Africa definitely. Would also be equal with Ireland if they won or Scotland if they lose. Then it would come down to NRR. I think it would require a huge win and then everything else going in our favour.

See you at 10.00 tomorrow as we take on South Africa.

SA's NRR has a minus next to it which helps

Let's win and worry about NRR after. Knowing our batsmen they'll throw over if we talk about NRR possibilities

Expecting them to get really close to what we need and the opposition to pull 6 consecutive [Great Fielding] out of nowhere.

That being said Iโ€™m sure PowerBug will have the calculator on hand for when it inevitably gets close.

I remember that happening to us :doh
Ireland scored big on a dry so I think they'll pip us to it
