Another hurting defeat. We concede 31 runs through misfields. Drop 4 catches and miss a run out.

They concede 5 runs to misfields and 8/8 catches taken. Makes such a big difference having that fielding on your side.

Starting to sound like a broken record but it is what it is. Just hope the FTP gods give a little back next one day tour!

Unlucky mate. That's how it goes sometimes.

There's going to be a few lean seasons for the UAE as we're now into the generation of players that were created at the games lowest point.

Yep. Got a few things to sort now to try and put us in any kind of position going into the next tour. Will try a few of the younger lads in friendlies to try and see how far they are off being able to tour. Theres a couple that with more experience could really plug a gap or two for future managers so I might be forced to tour them.

Tour Match # 5
VS Australia ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ
Result: ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ win by 17 runs

The Match in a tweet: oh no. Primmers big feet have knocked over his stumps. ๐Ÿฅฒ B. Primmer hit wicket!

Man of the Match: Callum Sewart ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ

Our best:
Imtiyaz Alim - 4/41 off his 10 overs. Pick of the bowlers today. I imagine we will be looking at this bloke for some big performances over the next few tours.

Mujahid Zakiyy - 50 runs from the skipper and a runout.

Amir Alam - 2/38 off his 10 overs and a catch.

Jaul Ghayth - 53 runs from the opener.

Around the grounds:
Sri Lanka beat the Netherlands by 95 runs. Sri Lanka come out and post a target of 250 then roll the Dutch for 150 odd to stun the World Cup winners who hadnโ€™t lost this week until this match.

West Indies hold onto a 6 run win thriller against the Irish.

A week of could have beens and what ifโ€™s unfortunately. We knew it was going to a be a tough tour and it indeed was a rough week. This transitional phase wonโ€™t be easy but we have to look towards the future and set up a foundation for future success.

Trust in the process ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ช

Iโ€™ll post the tour wrap a bit later and will be back on Monday for the Youth Tour - hopefully see you all then! ๐Ÿฅฐ
Just here to contribute a few cracking commentary lines and spend hours on the transfer market.

When youโ€™re on youโ€™re on.
When youโ€™re not, youโ€™re not.

Sadly not our week, needed a bit of luck to snag some wins and unfortunately got donuts. ๐Ÿฉ

A winless week means we go back down to Div 3.

Results:
53 run loss against Netherlands.
6 wicket loss against West Indies.
44 run loss against Sri Lanka.
1 wicket loss against Ireland.
17 run loss against Australia.

Ladder:
1st. Sri Lanka - 4 wins 1 loss +1.08 NRR
2nd. Netherlands - 4 wins 1 loss +0.68 NRR

3rd. Australia - 4 wins 1 loss +0.06 NRR
4th. West Indies - 2 wins 3 losses
5th. Ireland - 1 win 4 losses
6th. UAE - 0 win 5 losses

Sri Lanka pull a Friday upset against the Dutch and snag top spot in doing so. Their win also pushed Australia out of promotion. Many including myself thought Australia and the Netherlands would walk through to win promotion.

West Indies had a clear game plan for this tour. They got their two wins against us and Ireland and held onto a spot in Div 2 next tour.

Now a look into how our lads performed individually this week:

Our Best Performers:
1. Wakil Turk - 203 fantasy points from 3 matches including 1 Man of the Match
2. Sharrad Hossein - 166 fantasy points from 4 matches
3. Saad Nasser - 157 fantasy points from 3 matches including 1 Man of the Match
4. Hana Hassan - 156 fantasy points from 3 matches including 1 Man of the Match
5. Mujahid Zakiyy - 150 fantasy points from 3 matches

Turk, Nasser and Zakiyy are all 31+ and nearing the end. That probably shows where we are at and how these next few tours will be a challenge until the younger talents mature and step up.

The Shockers:
1. Kamil Wajih - 0 fantasy points from 3 matches
2. Rahul Jabbar - 18 fantasy points from 4 matches

Not the ideal debut tour for Wajih but he will bounce back!

Most Runs Scored:
1. Sharrad Hossein - 174 runs from 4 matches
2. Mujahid Zakiyy - 154 runs from 3 matches
3. Jaul Ghayth - 148 runs from 4 matches
3. Hana Hassan - 148 runs from 4 matches

Best Score: Hassan with 105 from 153 balls against the West Indies.

Most Wickets Taken:
1. Saad Naser - 10 wickets for 172 runs from 3 matches and 171 balls
2. Imtiyaz Alim - 7 wickets for 168 runs from 3 matches and 168 balls
2. Wakil Turk - 7 wickets for 113 runs from 3 matches and 180 balls

Best Figures:
Saad Naser - 6/62 against the Netherlands.

Best Bowling Average:
Wakil Turk - averaging a wicket every 16.14 runs conceded

Mr Economical:
Alan Morrow - economy rate of 3.59 runs an over. His tour figures were 1/55 from 2 matches and 92 balls.

Best Fielder:
Sharrad Hossein - 3 catches from his 4 matches

Our Keepers
Talib and Salman both had 3 catches from their 3 matches. Salman also snagged a field catch and 2 stumpings.

Celebrity Watch: Big Eddie McGuire took 11 wickets for the Aussies in his 3 matches. Peter Griffen only manages 3 wickets in his two matches for the West Indies. Floyd Mayweather Jr didnโ€™t take a wicket in his two matches for the Aussies.

That, that, thatโ€™s all folks.

Thatโ€™s a wrap for the tour - not a good one for us and we will have to go back to Div 3 for the next tour.

Join us on Monday over on the youth page for coverage of the youth matches.

Keep pulling UAE, keep training the prospects and keep faith. Do the work and the rest of pieces will fall into place.

Khaleel a wicket in his first international over.

Probably showed his inexperience going for 15 in his second over. ๐Ÿ˜”

Well when people are trying to sell you on why to be involved in a National Side at a management level, they wonโ€™t be showing you highlights of this game. If this was football people would be asking for the coaches head.

Bowled as we planned to despite losing the toss โœ…
Outrated the opposition โœ…
Get smacked around the park โœ…
Get bowled out for 65 โœ… โœ… โœ…
Lose by 81 runs โœ… โœ…

Wait what?!

Tour Match # 1
VS ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ผ
Result: :thumbsdown
๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ผ win by 81 runs

The Match in a tweet: Another tough day at the office for the UAE faithful.

Man of the Match: Dalton Knowles ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ผ

Our best: Imtiyaz Alim - in his first international T20 he was the pick of the bowlers with 3/27 off his 4 overs.

Aban Haqq - you know what youโ€™re gonna get from this old head and he didnโ€™t disappoint with 1/15 from his 4 overs. Also made 6 with the bat which was an effort in todayโ€™s batting innings.

Debutant Watch:
Alim was the pick of the first gamers.
Khaleel had an okay first appearance with 1-27 off his 4 overs.
Aziz similarly with his 1/33 from his 4 overs.
Kaโ€™im will be looking to bounce back after only managing 6 in a nervous first appearance.
Ghayth managing only 6 in his first international T20.

Around the Ground:
Scotland and Canada couldnโ€™t be separated after a thrilling conclusion. A catch and a runout in the penultimate over and then a drop in the last over and a missed runout on the last ball.
Maybe FTP should introduce Super Overs? Or boundary count back? That always goes well! Maybe they should go back out and play the whole thing again? But i digress.

Sri Lanka beat South Africa by 7 runs.

Tune in at 05.30 tomorrow as we look to bounce back against hosts Sri Lanka.

Trust in the process ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ช Itโ€™s gonna be a long week.

I hate to play the game of what if but....
What if Haqq holds that catch in the 12th over. Their set batsmen added another 44 runs after that drop and wasnโ€™t out as they held on in a nervous final over including not one but two runouts.

Tour Match # 2
VS ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡ฐ
Result: what is... loss
๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡ฐ win by 5 wickets

The Match in a tweet: Smart by the Sri Lankan to try and throw the game in the last over. Shame they failed. #matchfixing

Man of the Match: Tilan Kobbekaduwa ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡ฐ

Our best: Kamal Wajih 2/32 from his 4 overs and a catch round out a decent debut.

Debutant watch:
Wajih the best of the debutants.
Hossein got a start (23) but couldnโ€™t go on. Also a catch.
Hassan. Say less. ๐Ÿฆ†
Rahman. Hard day at the office. 0/47.

Around the Grounds:
Canada beat South Africa by 8 wickets.
Scotland beat Zimbabwe by 15 runs.

Tune in at tomorrow at 15.30 as we take on Scotland.

Hard one to take. Much better performance and getting so close to a win. Its not like us to drop the biggest catch chance of a match now is it

K. Wajih (rfm) 3-0-19-0, W. Gordon 1 (4b), L. Lewis 17 (14b)
End of over 5 (2 runs) - Scotland(27-2) RR 5.40

Another loss by 3 runs this time. Getting so close again but another collapse thanks to there far superior seam bowling.
