Sadly the senior lads only managed the one win and did it on the first day of the week.

Still managed to finish 4th in their group above Kenya and Sri Lanka.

With the 2 qualifying teams from our group going onto play in the final against each other. Congratulations to both New Zealand and South Africa. New Zealand winning out overall.

Obviously a disappointing tour, but plenty of room for growth.

Seniors now going into an Election and I wish all candidates the very best of luck.

The lucky candidate will need to hit the ground running with a Div 1 SOD Tour up first, then a chance to win promotion from Div 2 in the T20 tour.

Apologies I've been quiet on this front, it's been a busy time (even my club orders have struggled ).

But there's no need to worry about motivation, we have plenty of discussions in the discord about the way we're operating and the next steps, ensuring that we're keeping on top of things.

And we got a Div 1 tour win last week, which was really nice! 4-1 record for the second OD tour running, and we broke a 19 season drought without one. T20 tour is approaching us now, and we're in div 3 for that so promotion is very important there.

We will also be working on the next future stars watchlist shortly as well. It will be a 24.00 and under as of the start of the season, so 24.06 if you read this as I post it.

Go the UAE! Image

We go on tour again in Week 8, T20 tour in Scotland (although we won the bid), so it's 09:00 matches for the week as we look to get out of Div 3 :)

Wasn't our week in the end. Days 1 and 2 we were in great positions against South Africa and Ireland but our late over batting let us down. From there it was an uphill battle but the India match wasn't ever really a contest and they chased 119 on a Hard (well under par). We managed to recover and won the final two matches to finish 2-3 and third in the group. Those first two tight losses were against the two sides who not just finished 1st and 2nd in the group, but are also playing off in the WC final today.

We regroup and go again for the OD WC prep over the next season. We're starting to bring in players from generations where our U20 side started to see successful returns so with that our expectations will continue to rise.

Go the UAE :)

T20 can be a bit of a lottery and despite it not being our week, 3rd in the group (above Aus and England) is nothing to be sneezed at.

Monday
South Africa's 116 was just out of reach despite a Fattah 50 and 3 wickets to the wristie Ghafur.
Worth noting South Africa have gone on to top the group and are playing in the Cup final.

Tuesday
The bowlers leaked 178 on a flat and despite a 74 from Issa, we couldn't quite chase the Irish down.

Wednesday
Despite a captains knock of 67 from Ameen, we could only manage 119 on a Hard and India cruised the chase with 3 wickets in hand.

Thursday
There was a feeling of change in the rooms with the knowledge finals was off the cards. Stan Smith stood up with an unbeaten to set 148 in conditions ideal for spinners (windy/dry). Nu'man (4 wickets) and Ghafur (3 wickets) took to dismantling the English and bowled them out for just under 100.

Friday
80 from Kardal and 65 from Ameen saw 186 set against the Aussies and 4 wickets from Hussain saw the Aussies fall just 7 runs short.

The week ended with just two wins against the Australians and the English but small losses meant we were able to finish third in the group, a valiant effort! :clap

Bug and his team will no doubt be straight back to the drawing board to hopefully get that elusive World Cup trophy. :party

The senior lads are 3/3 and in a really good position to take out the Div 1 title.

Today’s win had a century (Murat) and a fivefa (Ghafur).

Yesterday we chased almost 260 and on Monday Fattah (60*) grinded us home in a tricky chase.
