End of over 50 (1 run) - UAE U20(229-7) RR 4.58

Given our reservations about taking him, Abdullah may well be our player of the tour...

Apologies for my absence for most of the week. I had a medical emergency earlier and Penky was kind enough to set orders for me. Overall was a very tough week and we only managed the two wins. We looked good in most of the games, just had a few bad moments that ruined it.

Onto the T20 tour now. We're in Div 2 and will be hoping to maintain this at a minimum. We don't lose many players for this tour, so things should look a little better.

The T20 tour starts on Monday and we'll be fighting for our survival in Div 2. Hopefully we can replicate the senior team and provide something positive for Moose to write about.

Game 1 is against a strong Zimbabwe side in dry/humid conditions.

First tour game underway. We won the toss and elected to bat.

T. Maraire (lfm) 2-0-6-0, M. Abdel 13 (15b), W. Suhail 2 (3b)
End of over 4 (4 runs) - UAE U20(22-1) RR 5.50

Slow start. We will need at least 150 to be a chance today.

S. Hatton (rfs) 2-0-16-1, W. Suhail 20 (18b), J. Fattah 3 (6b)
End of over 10 (9 runs) - UAE U20(55-2) RR 5.50

It's a bit odd seeing Suhail score runs.

EDIT: 10.1WChikunya to Suhail : [catch] It's got the height but just not the distance. Moyo had his eyes on it the whole time and it's safely landed in his hands.W. Suhail c R. Moyo b. T. Chikunya 20 (19b 2x4 0x6) SR:105.26

Could do with a performance from someone here to push us up! Thinking as close to 150 as possible is needed?

Yep, will definitely need close to 150. Not looking likely at the moment.

R. Lockwood (rws) 4-0-21-1, J. Habib 6 (9b), A. Rafi 7 (11b)
End of over 14 (3 runs) - UAE U20(76-4) RR 5.43

End of over 20 (8 runs) - UAE U20(123-6) RR 6.15

Terrible performance by our guys. About 20-25 runs short.

If we can fluke 2 or 3 early wickets, we might do the impossible.

No early wickets but very economical. Rates starting to climb on them big time.

19.6nb2Kaleel to Lockwood : Kaleel pushes that one through a bit quicker. Lockwood, on the back foot, guides it past gully for an easy two.

Well you don't see games like that every day!

Zimbabwe needed 13 runs from the final over with 8 wickets in hand.

2 runs off the first ball.
A single.
YES! GOT HIM! A. Abdel takes a screamer on the boundary of Kaleel's bowling.
3 legal deliveries remaining. 10 required.
A four.
Two runs.
One ball left. 4 runs required.
NO BALL! and they scramble through for two.
One ball left (again). Scores tied.
Keeper drops an edge down the legside but the batsmen don't run through.

THE MATCH IS TIED. No boundary count back here. It is a drawn match.
Can't even say it was a pretty drawing. I have seen children draw better.

Tour Match # 1
VS Zimbabwe
Result: :o
Match tied
Crowd: 22,000
Weather: Humid
Pitch: Dry

The Match in a Tweet: I literally have no words for what has just happened here. Much like a car crash, I didn't want to watch but felt I had to. A draw!

Man of the Match: Rudi Lockwood (Zimbabwe)
The Zimbabwean Hero (almost)

Our best:
Anwar Adbel - 1/22 off his 4 overs and a catch. Big wicket in the 16th over, getting Talkmore Sithole for 47.

Tawfiq Ghafur - 1/14 off the leggie's 4 overs. The most economical bowler of the match from both sides.

Around the Grounds:
Sri Lanka beat USA by 48 runs.

USA won the toss and elected to bowl first on a Slow Pitch on a Humid Day.
Sri Lanka made 135 5 down.
USA were bowled out for 87 in reply.

Scotland beat Netherlands by 6 wickets.

Netherlands won the toss and elected to bat first on a Slow Pitch on a Humid Day.
Netherlands made 140 5 down.
Scotland chased it down with 6 wickets in hand.
Scotland needed 3 off the final bowl, a misfielded ball ran for 4 and Scotland won the game.

Tune in at 0900 tomorrow as we take on Scotland.
