ATTENTION FOLLOWERS OF AUSTRALIAN CRICKET

I am back in the drivers seat, ready for the "Return to Glory"

A few points I'd like to make as we embark upon what will be an eventful journey.

Firstly, It has been noted that there has seemingly been a distinct lack of interest and community involvement in the National U/19's. This is something I would like to change.
Therefore, I welcome any constructive feedback and community involvement in this here thread. Please note, however, any deliberately negativity or "baiting" will be ignored. From amongst the group of myself and my assistants, we will endeavor to keep you all updated on the particular goings on of the U/19 squad in here.

Secondly, Whilst Australia does have a vast number of youth players the top end quality is no greater than any other FTP nation. Again, this is something I would like to address. I implore all managers in the community to continue to dedicate their weekly YP's to selecting Australian youths, especially the managers with Lavish, Luxurious and Deluxe academies. We NEED quality.

Thirdly, Please do not expect instant results. In the last tenure it was left to one Assistant in particular to run the second season, results improved under this persons guidance and the improvement is something we are determined to continue. Having said that we do not expect a given right to return to the WC instantly, this is a journey. It is my hope that with the improved quality of YP's coming through and the continued co-operation of club managers we can return to the WC and be a force once again, that journey may take 4,6 or even 8 seasons.

Finally, It is my aim to set up the U/19 squad so that the next tenure has a solid base to work from, whether that be in 2,4,8,or 12 seasons time. As a proud Australian I despise seeing our NAT teams missing WC qualification and therefore I endeavor to ensure the future of both NAT set ups long term.

Thank you for reading what will no doubt be the longest post I will make in here :D

Good Luck, Cheers and Pull Aussies.

Cheers Heppa.

After a long discussion with Crowy we have settled on a squad and selected what we believe to be our current best line up for the friendly next saturday night.

We are trying a couple of different ideas out with a few players yet to find their exact role, but that's what friendlies are for to try things out and hopefull we'll have it all well settled by the time the first tour comes around.

We played Kenya in a friendly last night.

http://www.fromthepavilion.org/scorecar ... Id=2830291

Weather: Hot
Pitch: Sticky

Bowled first, Bizzotto and McBeast were the standouts with some very tight bowling and wickets. I was quite happy with the orders we had settled on for these 2 in particular.

So following from the excellent bowling performance we had a very manageable required rate to chase.

The openers got off to a fine start and the skipper, Head, scored a nice half century. With not a large total to run down it was harder to gauge the batting effort after the opening pair.

With a tour squad to be selected by next Sunday we will be putting a fair bit into the next friendly on Saturday afternoon.

Looks like a fine player. Keepers are always welcome and he should turn out to be quite handy.
