Australian Big Bash League
I am interested in trying to get a community friendly competition going and wanted feedback from all of you regarding it.
I have been running the PSL in Pakistan for a while now (see here for more information: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=41395 ), so I wanted to get something similar set up here in Australia.
We can start small by having 4 franchises and 5-7 teams per franchise, but I would like to hear some ideas from the community and see what you all think.

Re: Australian Big Bash League
So what I am thinking is that we can start small and see how it goes for a season or two, and then expand it if there is enough interest.
We can alternate formats each season between OD and T20 and have league for both senior and youth teams with rating limits, so something like this:
Platinum: 250k+
Diamond: Max 250k
Silver: Max 200k
YOD 1: 125k+
YOD 2: Max 125k
We can add 2 extra leagues if there is enough interest for this season's competition.
Gold: Max 225k
YOD 3: Max 100k
To start with, we can play with just 4 franchises and each one plays all the others once with the top 2 contesting the final, with a tentative schedule looking something like this:
Season 57 Week 8 (Sign-ups Open)
Season 57 Week 9 (Sign-ups Close)
Season 57 Week 10 (Draft/Fixtures Released)
Season 57 Week 11 (Round 1)
Season 57 Week 12 (Round 2)
Season 57 Week 13 (Round 3)
Season 57 Week 14 (Final)
Franchise names can be as follows:
Adelaide
Melbourne
Perth
Sydney
Or we can go with state names so like these:
New South Wales
Victoria
Queensland
Tasmania

Re: Australian Big Bash League
Sounds like a good concept, I'd be interested. I participated in the PSL many years/seasons ago.

Re: Australian Big Bash League
You can still join the PSL, we are looking for some more teams so have space.
I might introduce the 4 Aussie franchises here as city names to go along with the Big Bash and start with Adelaide, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney.
Then down the line bring in Brisbane and Hobart to complete the set of 6.
