Because tech is I would make him a bowler who can bat
Field to reas then bowl tech until the gap closes and then bowling

Re: The "How to Train?" topic (part 2)
hi everyone,
what determines whether you'd train an ord/ord or ave/ave bat/bowl youth guy as a batsman/bowler/AR?
Is this a reasonable summary?:
Has batting (only) talents = bat
Left handed = bat(?)
Has bowling (only) talents = bowl
Has interesting bowler type (e.g. F/WS) = bowl
Has a mixtured of talents = AR(?)
Is right-handed bat and an uninteresting bowler type = AR(?)
I guess the final variable is what my team would find most useful?
For instance should I be looking at this guy and be thinking:
a) bowl because of the slower ball despite the one skill level lower
or
b) bat because he's a leftie and it's one skill level higher and LMedium isn't that interesting
or
c) AR because of a) & b)
16 years | 23,206 rating
Left hand batsman | Left arm Medium
Talents Slower Ball
Experience poor
Captaincy poor
Skills
Batting average
Endurance average
Bowling ordinary
Technique poor
Keeping dreadful
Power poor
Fielding average
Cue all the chat about just firing him
Any thoughts appreciated,
Monty

I wouldn’t fire him
He’ll be a good club player. Personally I’d go Batsmen. As you say he’s only a Medium. And skills favour the batting.

Thoughts? Deluxe academy if that helps. 50/50 on whether he'll be useful but at least it's still early in the season.

I would simply train him as a bowler, never going to be great but he's a LWS.Chaisa wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2020 12:48 pmThoughts? Deluxe academy if that helps. 50/50 on whether he'll be useful but at least it's still early in the season.

Now youths play till 20 I might be tempted to train his fielding to reasonable as early in the season then concentrate on his bowling/technique.
Just my opinion of course.

Re: The "How to Train?" topic (part 2)
Depends on how high that bowling and fielding are, esp in deluxe academy
I simmed trng for someone else with a similar player and they got 1 field pops and 7 bowl pops before he turned 21
You need more fielding but if you are lucky he could get 3 field pops and 7 bowl pops just after he turns 21
Even if batting is higher, like Wolfie said, making use of the LWS would be a good idea

Yes the more he plays as captain the more the captaincy skill increases.Maverick1984 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2020 12:03 pmhi all ,
I dont know if this is the right thread . But is Captaincy a trainable skill ? of course i am aware that it isn't via academies . But is it that more he plays as a captain , more captaincy skill increases ?
Apart from picking the captains, managers have no control over the captaincy skill.Maverick1984 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2020 12:03 pmTLDR : Do managers have any control over captaincy skill ?
