Have to agree with thebof on this one
KB for as long as I can, Bat tech to keep the tech up plus a little bit of fielding when that falls 3 levels behind

Cheers for the advice, 2-1 for WK-Bat so will try that and see how he goes.

Think I might throw this one out here to see if anyone has any advice - Keeper? Bowler?
Chucking him on fielding for now.
Silly Mid-On CC (Scotland) and Silly Mid-Off CC (West Indies).
I'm counting the days until I inevitably get the two mixed up and buy an expensive transfer target for the wrong team.

Whatever you need really. Plenty of spares and a wage that suggest bowling could be close to a pop

Cheers all for the advice. YA is at Lavish, so could be better but my affiliate is basically homegrown (Well, it's West Indies only but the West Indian only transfer market is a bit barren), but good enough to keep him around.
Decided to go down the bowler route - wasting the keeping hurts a bit, but my team is in desperate need of half decent bowlers and the summaries point me to believe bowling is not that far off a pop.

Two guys I'm a little unsure on....

Add this player to your bookmarks Southern Squirrels >> 86. Rick Boer >> Details
Player Info
16 years | 29,267 rating | $1,141 wage (5% discount)

Right hand batsman | Right arm Medium

Talents Skilled (Keeping), Opener
Nationality Netherlands Netherlands
Form reasonable
Fatigue rested
Experience poor
Captaincy ordinary
Skills Summary
Batsman ordinary
Bowler average
Keeper ordinary
Allrounder ordinary
Notes

Skills
Batting ordinary Endurance reasonable
Bowling reasonable Technique poor
Keeping ordinary Power average
Fielding average

Add this player to your bookmarks Southern Squirrels >> 88. Addy Wagenaar >> Details
Player Info
16 years | 25,414 rating | $1,013 wage (5% discount)

Right hand batsman | Right arm Medium

Talents Accumulator
Nationality Netherlands Netherlands
Form reasonable
Fatigue rested
Experience poor
Captaincy capable
Skills Summary
Batsman ordinary
Bowler ordinary
Keeper ordinary
Allrounder ordinary
Notes

Skills
Batting poor Endurance poor
Bowling average Technique average
Keeping average Power ordinary
Fielding ordinary

Both seem more bowlers to me, but both are mediums which is slightly annoying. Boer has an opener talent that might make making him an AR valuable? Whereas Wagenaar is also potentially a nice keeper (but I already have a few good ones).

Thoughts?

Two nice players....but I have no idea, to be honest. Both quite challenging

Train fielding on both to at least reasonable then figure it out? :)

If you were pushing me for an answer, I'd make the 2nd guy a bowler

This is the part of training I still don't have any grasp of. What determines whether an ave/ave/ave/ave bat/bowl/tech/keep guy should become a bat/bowl/AR/wk

I get you can look at the talents/traits & bat/bowler type, but say we had an average dude across the board with:
RHB / RFM
Skilled Technique

What would be the play here?

If that same guy was
LHB / RM
I guess the steer would be batsman?

But if RHB / LWS
Perhaps bowler?

Hi all,

Back to FTP after a long long time, used to remember R0b1et in the UAE forum sections but I don't think he is around anymore?!

Getting back used to the game and giving it a lot more time.

What would you suggest the best way to train a 16yo in general?

My thinking was get him to reasonable fielding and then focus on either batting or bowling till he is 20? If he has a poor endurance he will naturally pop in this with batting/bowling training right so no point putting him on fitness?

Let me know your thoughts. Example player below:

London Spirit >> Min McPharlin >> Details

Allrounder ordinary

Batting ordinary Endurance poor
Bowling average Technique ordinary
Keeping poor Power average
Fielding poor

Welcome back

Fielding to reas/cap if not a top up later and primaries till 21 (youth age has been lifted)
Another field pop will be good but depends on your academy and where he is at 20.5
