D. Ylyett (rm) 3-0-12-1, C. Eastham 2 (9b), M. Meikle 0 (0b)
End of over 29 (1 run) - swinton sharks(142-6) RR 4.90
28.6 W Ylyett to McGuirk : That's a real effort ball from Ylyett. It was yorker length and struck McGuirk on the foot, causing him to collapse in heap. A concerned Katich beckons the umpire to come down and take a look at McGuirk. "Can you walk on it?" asks the umpire. "I think so" McGuirk replies. "Good" says the umpire. "Walk to the pavilion. You're out!"S. McGuirk lbw b. D. Ylyett 76 (88b 4x4 5x6) SR:86.36

Much needed wicket.

S. McEwen (rfm) 8-0-48-0, E. McCall 77 (78b), A. Clarke 58 (73b)
End of over 31 (5 runs) - Ruff Royals(169-3) RR 5.45

Well, that's the 120+ partnership. I've heard it's the hope that kills you though.

N. James (rm) 6-1-18-1, S. Clouston 0 (0b), R. Norris 4 (6b)
End of over 36 (3 runs) - Ruff Royals(197-5) RR 5.47

McCall out for a great 89 and Clarke out for a good 69. We need the rest of the team to get us to 220+, I think.

D. Ylyett (rm) 8-0-50-2, S. Hanrahan 1 (6b), M. Meikle 32 (28b)
End of over 40 (18 runs) - swinton sharks(206-9) RR 5.15
39.6 6 Ylyett to Meikle : And Meikle plays an A.B Devilliers-like hoik into the stands where Ylyett's mother Linda takes a textbook catch! Unfortunately for Ylyett thats still 6 runs to the total.
39.5 6 Ylyett to Meikle : Short ball by Ylyett which gets hooked 10 rows back in the crowd!

39.4 4 Ylyett to Meikle : A vicious hook shot from Meikle, which beats the diving fielder at square leg and away to the boundary for four runs.

How to lose a game in three balls

Well, we certainly didn't bottle it.

It looked like we were out of it with them on 208-5 and needing only 4 runs to win. We then get a run out on the last ball of the 39th over, Harvey gets bowled first ball of the last over for 96, and then they get 2 runs in the next 3 balls so only need 2 to win. Penultimate ball of the innings we get another run out and on the final ball it's Terry Ball who takes a wicket to leave them on 210-9 and us with the 4 points by the smallest of margins.

Ruff Royals won by 1 run.

The Middle Stump Lubricators Ruff Royals

Batting - Middle Order 5,850 5,889

Bowling - Spin 7,097 (8) 8,692 (16)
Fielding/Keeping 7,017 8,373
Overall 123,780 125,308

We sneak out of the drop zone on NRR.

Weather (forecast) Cloudy
Pitch (current) Slow

I was half expecting a late pitch change but it's kept to slow. I've moved around the bowling orders a little bit so I'll be interested to see how that goes.

A. Diaz (rfm) 2-1-3-0, J. Zafar 3 (9b), G. Maldonado 1 (9b)
End of over 3 (3 runs) - Pedagogs(5-0) RR 1.67

They decided to have a bat which is what I was going to do. No early wickets yet.

End of over 10 (7 runs) - Pedagogs(43-0) RR 4.30

It's not going too well. I suppose the only good thing is that they're not going at more than 5 an over.

J. Walkley (rm) 5-0-29-0, G. Wellington 11 (19b), R. Talbot 5 (11b)
End of over 10 (9 runs) - St Agnes (49-2) RR 4.90

Unfortunately Walkley proved to be extremely expensive but thankfully quick bowler Peden took 2 for 13 in his five overs, now for the spinners to work their magic.

End of over 25 (5 runs) - St Agnes (94-3) RR 3.76

Happy with the RR but we need more wickets to ensure it doesn't increase too much.
