Recruit was an Irishman so instead I'll bore you with a couple of my training pops.
I noticed that you've instant-listed him, as someone who's pav membership is about to drop, are you planning on selling your non USA recruits and using the income to buy them from the TM?

Purely out of interest as I'm not sure of my plan yet
I wouldn't say my plan is set in stone yet but my thinking on it at the moment is, like you said, sell non USA recruits and use the money to buy USA players from the market so that I can continue to support the USA.

How easy it will be to pick up players who are actually good enough for the national team is another question but even if they're not good enough for the national team it would mean that I can possibly spread the age of my youth players more effectively. I reckon I'd need maybe three 16-year-olds a season and I would prefer these to be spread over the season as much as possible. That way there is some consistency to the team and I don't end up losing 3 of my best players within a week when they turn 21. So ideally I'd buy a 16-year-old at, say, week 5, week 9, and week 14.

I had quite a few early season 16-year-olds last season so I may struggle a bit when they all turn 21 one after the other so there's probably an argument for me buying a bit earlier this year but spreading out the ages seems like a good idea for having a consistent team.

In theory, if you sell your non USA recruits and use the money to buy americans then the players you buy will be of a similar quality to those that you sell so you're not really losing out on anything. Of course, you're more at risk to volatility in the transfer market but that can work for you as well as against you.

I've had to buy players off the market for most of my affiliate's life because it just doesnt get usable youths.

I have players that I keep too long, that I might consider selling if I thought there was a market from teams who would be more likely to play them and train them well.

e.g., Jimmy Davis hasn't had a game yet and Landry has only had one T20, as Parker Richardson (17y1w | 36,953 rating | $1,971) is a better WK and batsman.

Jimmy Davis: 16y13w | 30,013 rating | $1,172 wage (5% discount)
Right hand batsman | Left arm Finger spin
Talents Gifted (Fielding)

Experience poor
Captaincy reasonable

Batsman average
Bowler poor
Keeper reasonable
Allrounder ordinary

Batting reasonable Endurance average
Bowling poor Technique average
Keeping capable Power poor
Fielding average

Jason Landry 16y14w | 30,552 rating | $1,178 wage (5% discount)
Left hand batsman | Right arm Medium

Talents Skilled (Keeping)
Experience poor
Captaincy ordinary

Batsman average
Bowler poor
Keeper average
Allrounder poor

Batting average Endurance ordinary
Bowling poor Technique reasonable
Keeping reasonable Power ordinary
Fielding reasonable

I've definitely had more barren spells, but it's a bit disconcerting considering these could be my last few USA pulls:

45 03 Aug 2020 Duane Clay 16,857 16,857 Woodchester XI
45 27 Jul 2020 Don Richmond 15,168 Retired
45 21 Jul 2020 Chris Manning 14,921 Retired
44 13 Jul 2020 Jake Thornton 13,880 Retired
44 06 Jul 2020 Patrick Reyes 15,933 Retired
44 29 Jun 2020 Derek Gonzales 16,817 Retired
44 22 Jun 2020 Dale Roman 22,443 24,666 Woodchester XI

16y0w | 16,857 rating | $606 wage (5% discount)

Left hand batsman | Right arm Medium

Talents Finisher
Nationality USA USA
Form reasonable
Fatigue rested
Experience dreadful
Captaincy ordinary
Skills Summary
Batsman dreadful
Bowler poor
Keeper atrocious
Allrounder poor
Notes

Skills
Batting poor Endurance dreadful
Bowling ordinary Technique atrocious
Keeping atrocious Power ordinary
Fielding average

I kind of feel it's another to fire, unfortunately. Had technique been poor I would have probably kept, but ultimately this is an ord/atro medium pacer with no talent. The fact I'm ever considering keeping probably says everything about my recent pulls

Yeah that's a decent pull with the bowling type/talent!

I'll follow the summary and make this guy a batsman I think. Decent secondaries, and gifted fielding as well, should be OK at club level

Cheers dm. W/o the bowling type and talent probably would have been on TM by now.

Quiet on the western front!

16y0w | 17,952 rating | $543 wage (5% discount)

Right hand batsman | Right arm Finger spin

Talents Accumulator, Slower Ball
Nationality USA USA
Form reasonable
Fatigue rested
Experience dreadful
Captaincy atrocious
Skills Summary
Batsman poor
Bowler poor
Keeper poor
Allrounder poor
Notes

Skills
Batting poor Endurance ordinary
Bowling poor Technique average
Keeping poor Power dreadful
Fielding dreadful

Awesome talents, decent tech and then it just falls apart. Fielding and power very low, and the summaries/wage with average tech indicate that both batting and bowling are probably at the lower end, so yeah.. think it's another fire!

Quite a few pops but nothing of particular note.

I got quite a nice player but he was the wrong side of the USA/Canada border.

I'm not really finding any decent quality USA players on the market at the moment. Maybe more will come on the market once teams have got 3ish 16-year-olds that they're happy with.
