I seem to remember when the change was introduced, I thought it was more than just a lack of variety bonus(Which is small anyway I've seen before). It was introduced to stop managers from playing four and five spinners.

The penalty is just that you have to bowl them in the first 10 when they do get a penalty.

It's illogical if there's a bowling variety bonus, a penalty for bowling spin in the first 10, and also another penalty on top for playing too many spinners. No chance that's the case in my completely amateur opinion.

No, pretty sure that's incorrect unless this was changed after Ash implemented the 4 & 5 spinner penalty. I know this was put into action as I remember the debate and the update about it, just because people can't remember it happening doesn't mean it didn't(Unless of course it was fake news at the time )It's illogical to have player plops start at 30 yet it happens and was put into place to improve the game, same reason the spinner penalty was put in place as teams were picking 5 spinners and this was deemed unrealistic and not good for the game.

How much difference does aggression actually make?

I find that rarely my A batsmen have the highest SR, same with my bowlers sometime my D bowlers get all the wickets and my A bowlers have the lowest ER.

How is is calculated? For example I picture an A batsman having say 10% higher SR but also 10% more likely to get out? Does it work like that or is there something else to it?
