Re: UAE U20 - News & Discussion
Boy oh boy wowee!
I’m not gonna lie I left the game after South Africa’s innings and wasn’t at all hopeful that we would chase that total but the lads managed it. Talk about staggering over the line. The lads making sure the winning run was pinched off a hatrick ball. Don’t mind a bit of drama and theatrics. Don’t mind it at all.
Tour Match # 4
VS South Africa
Result:
win by 3 wickets
The Match in a tweet: oooh midwinters on a hatrick! Just needs three more wickets in a row here with out conceding a run and South Africa snag the draw. And nope nah Baha has squirted out a single.
Man of the Match: William Elgar
Our best:
Khayri Saleem - not out on 53 at slightly better than a run a ball. Took control of the run chase and saw out the win! Brilliant stuff.
Zane Baha - two wickets and hit the winning run! His 2/46 off 10 overs - definitely bowled the best for us today in what was a hard day at the office for the bowlers. All going at almost 5 an over on what should have been a nice deck to bowl on (humid/green).
moose quick maffs
The equation is pretty simple from here:
Win and Hope
The three top teams are all on three wins.
The three top teams all play teams below them.
We have a small (~0.5) NRR buffer over Zimbabwe so if we win and Zimbabwe win by a similar margin we would go through and promote to Div. 2!
Believe. Trust. Embrace. Visualise. Hotel. Trivago.
Tune in at 11.30 tomorrow as we take on the might of the USA
Trust in the process

Cheers again Moose, here's hoping we can top it off with a promotion tomorrow
Hopefully PBs around towards the end of tomorrows games to give us the NRR lowdowns
I've been off the last couple of days, so kept a close eye on them and it's been more stressful following UAE games than working

Well we’re bowling in this last game.
S. Kardal (rm) 7-0-19-1, J. White 44 (84b), X. Lawson 19 (41b)
End of over 22 (6 runs) - USA U20(82-2) RR 3.73
Unfortunately both Zimbabwe and South Africa are batting upstream on their games below:
A. arap Kosgey (rfm) 7-0-23-1, L. Ryan 11 (13b), N. Shezi 35 (73b)
End of over 23 (2 runs) - Zimbabwe U20(78-4) RR 3.39
A. Cusack (rm) 5-0-27-0, B. Benkenstein 25 (33b), A. Mbangwa 42 (65b)
End of over 23 (7 runs) - South Africa U20(97-1) RR 4.22

Unfortunately, it looks like the broken fielding ME is going to cost us today.

Hold onto hope young heppa. Many a twist left in this one.
Zimbabwe are 7-116. A loss to them and a loss to us would see the second promotion spot come down to NRR between 3 teams (USA being the third).
I wouldn’t dare do the maffs myself though.

Yep, we're relying on other results now. We've created frequent chances and dropped 4 already so it's a good pitch to bowl on.

G. Armanjani (lfs) 10-0-44-1, R. Horton 3 (5b), T. Gilbert 32 (33b)
End of over 45 (7 runs) - USA U20(201-5) RR 4.47
5 missed chances now. I'm not confident chasing more than 200, but it would be nice keeping them to 240 which has been chaseable for most games this week.

Kenya are looking good against Zim, hopefully they can knock them off quick. I'd have thought the USA would need a pretty sizeable win to overtake us. Where's PB when you need him?

Re: UAE U20 - News & Discussion
L. Johnson (rws) 4-0-18-0, Y. Shareef 31 (35b), A. Hakim 14 (25b)
End of over 25 (6 runs) - UAE U20(112-3). 128 runs required from 25 overs. RR 4.48 RRR 5.12
Evenly poised at drinks. They've nearly bowled out their most dangerous bowler for the conditions, and we've got a fair few to come from Johnson, who looks a pretty average wristy given he clearly has some batting.
Kenya were motoring nicey, but started making trouble for themselves with 2 wicket maidens on the trot
M. Zuma (lm) 8-1-34-2, C. Kilonzo 0 (4b), J. Murubi 0 (4b)
End of over 32 (maiden) - Kenya U20(121-5). 36 runs required from 18 overs. RR 3.78 RRR 2.00

At least we're still in the chase. Need these two to last another 10 overs.

Re: UAE U20 - News & Discussion
Kenya win!
Need to just keep it fairly close now I think. We can't be far off getting what we need
N. Price (rm) 4-0-15-1, A. Hadi 15 (17b), Y. Shareef 42 (63b)
End of over 34 (3 runs) - UAE U20(144-5). 96 runs required from 16 overs. RR 4.24 RRR 6.00
Down to our last 2 full time bats

Re: UAE U20 - News & Discussion
Just did some rough numbers and 170 is more than enough for promotion.
N. Price (rm) 5-0-20-1, A. Hadi 20 (25b), Y. Shareef 47 (67b)
End of over 36 (9 runs) - UAE U20(159-5). 81 runs required from 14 overs. RR 4.42 RRR 5.79
Considering these two are both batsmen, we have a long tail, and the NRR is reasonable, we're still a chance today.
N. Samsodien (rf) 8-0-51-0, C. O'Casey 18 (18b), E. Coughlan 111 (105b)
End of over 37 (6 runs) - Ireland U20(195-4). 104 runs required from 13 overs. RR 5.27 RRR 8.00
I would say Ireland are still a chance too. There's a slim chance of a title all of a sudden

If these two can carry on at this clip for 3 or 4 more overs we should make it. Thank God we put Shareef in last minute

That's three half centuries for him this week, along with the other four he has this season already.

Re: UAE U20 - News & Discussion
Averages at least 46 in both formats across competitive and friendly matches, who says it's a bowlers game?
Anyway, promotion achieved! Ireland crumbled in the face of RRR pressure and SA clinched the title, which is probably fair considering how comfortably they beat everyone else
