The Raging Speed Horns won by 4 wickets

We didn't score enough and the medium pacers let us down. The biggest test in SOD so far this season was comprehensively failed and only losing by 4 wickets is somewhat generous to us.
This is a tight league with a nice balance between teams - top 5 on 8 points. It could end up decided on NRR (and mine's abysmal) if no one gets away from the pack.

Yeah, I missed the bulk of this game due to Burns Night alcohol abuse...probably for the best - that mini collapse towards the end of the innings wouldn't have been good for my constitution - but we muddled through in the end - Labyrinth was blatantly out to impress the tour selectors, the little show off :ninja
Had a look at the league, don't think I've ever seen such a big discrepancy in the quality of the Div 2 leagues ... absolutely stacked that 2.1 league ... @Wolfberries ... harsh result for you today, but must be glad you're in 2.2 instead

We did great to bowl them out for 96 with Pithey taking 4-27. However, we made hard work of the chase by scoring slowly despite having wickets in hand for most of the innings. We only got the winning run on the last ball of the match. Marwat was the star with the bat with 41 from 50 balls.

Thankfully relatively straightforward, even though the MKMC fatigure made my batting line up even weaker than usual.

Probably not going to be much of a rematch as I imagine I'll just pick my reserve team. I might even be weaker than the last round!

Knockout Heroes won by 1 run

Ruff Royals Knockout Heroes
Batting - Top Order 13,876 13,591
Batting - Middle Order 11,911 10,179

Bowling - Spin 13,409 (8) 14,008 (8)
Fielding/Keeping 16,994 15,658
Overall 234,909 220,123

It was a slow pitch and we put them in to bat first. They made it look like it wasn't a slow pitch at all and scored 144. It very much seemed like a slow pitch at the start of our innings before a fantastic 85 from 60 balls for Dennehy and 37 from 30 balls by Whitehead got us close. We only needed 6 runs off the last over but 4 was all we could get.

We really need to start picking up some positive results as we're flirting with relegation at the moment.

won the toss and had a bowl on sticky/humid. New wristy Sparks had an unfortunate debut with no less than FOUR dropped catches off his bowling, but fortunately it didn't matter too much as we still restricted them to 106/8 in their 20. In reply we never looked in much danger, and Zaha's unbeaten 42 (35) saw us home in 16.3 overs. Result: Won by 7 wickets.

A disappointing performance. We did not start well with the bat. Harrision did well with 65. Pithey began well with the ball and finished on 2-17 but no one else did much.

This league is looking tight; I'm in the relegation zone.

It was going quite well when we got them down to 100-4 on an even pitch. But they recovered to a massive 277-6.

We kept losing wickets regularly and made a pathetic 169 all out.

I just can't seem to get the team to click at the moment. My batters were poor again and their spinners did significantly better than mine.

Straightforward win against the bottom club puts us in second behind DangerDave's mob. Unfortunately we'll be playing Snakey's Kent Stars next week minus our top batsman and bowler - snakey, despite having the highest rated team, doesn't faff around with national players so we'll be up against it :P .

MKMC Sunday with sparky preeeesumably fielding a 2nd XI - so should round off a reasonable week (he said).

lost the toss and put in to bat on sunny/dry. Was a strange innings with no one getting 50, but everyone contributing (bar Richards who was out for a two ball duck) - giving us an excellent 255/7 in our 50. In reply, Modi put up some good resistance with 80, but it always looked like being a tough chase, and we ended up with a 70 run win. Sparks did well in his first OD game for us with figures of 9 - 1 - 37 - 3.

An unexpected win, and overall a pleasing start to the season. Looks like being an extremely tight relegation battle, so we're gonna need a few more performances like this to keep ourselves out of trouble!

Snuck home. Batting again frail, but a 127 from opener Wambau got us to a decent score despite a load of cheap wickets falling. Looked like the 250 wasn't going to be enough but our 2 spinners somehow bowled them out on a Sunny / Hard (because: match engine).
