Usually sticky favours heavily fast bowlers so i have gone for sticky as the first choice. But weather have been collapsed completely as favours for spin bowlers

Re: Ireland NAT Thread
In my experience sticky rarely favours more than one or two fast bowlers, unless the weather is favourable and then again the ME loves a varied attack
as it gives you a small bonus for that. Plus a bonus for the weather. So you lost out on two potential bonuses being so seam heavy.
From the game rules
Sticky Pitch Heavily favours all bowlers.
It looks like it has cost you a good start to the season but thankfully there is still time to turn it around.

Congratulations Devi.
A risky choice to take so many fast bowlers and it could of played out well with the right weather. You have still received the variety bonus in all your matches so far this tour.

Re: Ireland NAT Thread
To my understanding a bowling variety of 3 is required to receive the minor bonus and the bonus is a fixed amount. There is a total of 10 variations available in bowlers when you consider there are 5 for left arm bowlers and another 5 for right arm. It is sometimes still better to select the players to suit the pitch and weather than to worry about variety. A slightly different story if it were to be spinners though.

Here in the forums.... ask ash, ask gm's. A lot disappears as users retire but there is still a lot of info available. Search bowling variety in the forum and see what comes up.RonnieG wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2025 11:23 amInteresting, where did you get that from?boscorp wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2025 9:59 amTo my understanding a bowling variety of 3 is required to receive the minor bonus and the bonus is a fixed amount. I do recall it coming up in ask Ash and he would not be drawn. That hardly allows the conclusion that there is a cap on bowler variety. If there is it should plainly state so in the game manual.boscorp wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2025 12:46 pmHere in the forums.... ask ash, ask gm's. I also recall him hinting he would lessen the pass success gap between med pacers and fasties when it came to keeper catches as it appeared it is/was harder for a keeper to hold onto a chance generated by a F bowler compared to a slow one. He of course he good questioned me when I asked him if there was a sliding scale between all the bowlers. This was back in the day when Chezza was destroying all and sundry with 5 med pacers, it was an obvious improvement to make at the time.

"Please keep in mind that the benefits gained by selecting a balanced bowling attack are relatively minor and it is often still advisable to select the bowlers best suited to the pitch and weather conditions, regardless of style, when choosing your lineup." Thats a quote from the game manual, page67 of the open forum has some replies from crowfan that discuss bowler variety that appear to be more recent.RonnieG wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2025 3:15 pmI do recall it coming up in ask Ash and he would not be drawn. Finally we have been selected for the world cup. Thanks to all who have been continuously training Ireland players tirelessly and giving a lot of support. And thanks to all who have been changed training after my message according to the need for national level. Hoping for the best in the world cup
