PSL 16 Discussion & Sign-ups

[MOD-wmchamps]

The Pakistan Super League is a competition where franchises consisting of 5-9 teams each face each other in matches for the PSL Trophy.
Last season Multan Sultans did the double by winning both the league and the inaugural knockout cup.

Teams will be assigned an entire week to get their games done and each team captain or a designated representative has to post the links to fixtures in their respective forum threads.

Ex: Round 1 has to be played in FTP Week 5, Round 2 in FTP Week 6 and so on.
If teams have no free friendly slots then the match will be declared a draw.

Franchises have to play their matches by Sunday 23:59 FTP time, and games can be played any day of the week.
Ex: Round 1 is FTP Week 5, so all matches for this round have to be played by Sunday 23:59 FTP time.

Franchises are allowed to retain up to 2 teams (including themselves and affiliate teams) from last season.
Franchises will also have the ability to use one Right-to-Match (RTM) card.

This means that in the draft if a team played for them last season, and someone else won them in the draft, then they can use their RTM card and get them back in their franchise, while the draft will then be adjusted accordingly.

How the points system for franchises will work:

2 points will be awarded for a franchise win and 1 point for a franchise draw
For example out of 7 matches between Karachi and Lahore if Karachi win 4 and Lahore win 3, then the score will read as Karachi 4-3 Lahore.
Karachi gets 2 points in this case.
Individual wins and losses will also be recorded and used as a tie-breaker in case of a tie in the points table.

Competition format will be a single round-robin with all 6 franchises playing each other once and the top 2 then contesting the final.

Winning franchise members will each be awarded either 1 month membership or 40 credits.

Rulings if teams cross the rating limits:

1: Team A vs Team B, If Team A wins but crosses the rating limit and Team B stays under the limit, then the result will be overturned and Team B will be declared the winner.

2: Team A vs Team B, If Team A wins and stays under the rating limit, and Team B goes over the rating limit and loses, then the result will stand.

3: If both teams cross the limit then the result will stand.

All matches will be played on Random pitch and Random weather.

If anyone exceeds their league match rating, then the result will be overturned regardless of the difference in match ratings between them and their opponent.

Example: Team A played Team B in the Gold league. Team A won but they rated 216k while Team B rated 200k. Team B will get the win as Team A crossed the Gold league limit of 215k.

PSL Management Team

1: Analyst (Writes the post-match reviews for each round) TBD

2: Match Referee (Checks the match ratings of the teams in the Diamond, Gold, Silver, Youth 2, and Youth 3 leagues to see if anyone went over the rating limits and updates me accordingly) TBD

3: PSL Manager (Sends the fixture list to all captains at the beginning of each week, for example, they will mail all captains the list for Round 1 on the first day of the week, and posts the final result for each fixture of each round in this thread) TBD

Management Team members will also receive prizes this season provided that they perform their prescribed duties throughout the duration of the competition, so if anyone is interested then make sure to familiarize yourself with the duties of the chosen role, and let me know if you have any questions.

The main responsibilities of a captain are that they will be making sure that all of their teams have arranged their matches in each round, they or a representative creates a thread here in the forums for their franchise, and that they or a representative posts in the respective thread at least once a week or so.

The T20 Knockout Cup will follow right after the final of the regular PSL is played, with the playoff round to be played the same week as the final.
In the playoff round the 3rd placed franchise of the group stage will play the 5th place franchise, and 4th place will play against 6th.
Then a week later 1st will play the winner of 4th vs 6th and 2nd will play the winner of 3rd vs 5th in the Knockout Cup Semi-Finals, and finally the semi-final winners will play the T20 Knockout Cup final.
Matches of the Knockout Cup will be played in T20 format by the senior teams while the youth teams will play in YT20 format.

An added incentive regarding the knockout cup is that if the same franchise wins both the regular PSL and the knockout cup, then their managers will all receive upgraded prizes and get to choose between 3 Months Pavilion Membership (also includes 20 game credits) or Affiliate Token (includes 2 day membership and 100 game credits).

Additionally, we will also be running a Youth Recruit competition as follows:

• Weekly Reward: 1-month membership awarded each week to the best Pakistani recruit (non-members can post a recruit regardless of nationality) made between FTP Weeks 5-12.

End-of-PSL Rewards:
• Top Recruit: 3-month membership for the highest-waged/rated Pakistani recruit.
• Lowest Rated Pull: 1-month membership.
• Non-Member Reward: 1-month membership to a non-member.

Bonus Reward: Managers who recruit a Pakistani player in every round of the group stage will qualify.
• The highest average-rated recruit among these managers will receive 3-month membership.
