70s for Burnett and Hinds, but nothing much else worked for us as we under performed with both bat & ball. Three losses in a row and we're in trouble.....

We end our brief stay in Div 1 with another disappointing result; although we did push Australia all the way.

Another good performance from Challenor and decent bowling from Charles. A lot of the bats got a start, but none pushed on.

2 matches in T20 and 2 losses. Not much to highlight in our defeat against the Dutch.

Against Australia, Hinds batted well for his 50 and the Aussies won the match off the last ball. Boo

A dismal T20 tour finished with another loss. A decent spell from Chanderpaul, but the bats were poor. Very poor.

The 2nd OD tour is in full swing and results continue to go against us. Sorry.

In the first game, our bats recovered from 35-5 with a glorius hundred from Kenna with fifty from Wolfe. It was never enough.

In game 2, hundreds from Smith & Malabre (making his debut) got us to 359. Even so, Zimbabwe won by 3 wickets.

Game 3 saw another disappointing batting performance, though our bowling remained tight to lose by 2 wickets.

A big improvement in game 4 saw 3 50s from: Mallabre, Challenor and Warrington. Tidy bowling saw an 86 run victory.

Given this forum is usually swamped with messages & questions, MOD-quirkilyalive has just been released from his Assistant role for the Senior Team. This is not because his performance was similar to Amorim nor Maresca. Rather he wants to put his hat in the ring for the u20s and the elections are soon.

The Windies Senior Team will be seeking another assistant over the next couple of weeks.

FIRST T20I AGAINST NEW ZEALAND

New Zealand have won the toss and chosen to bat first. opening pair F. Coffin and E. Birch have given the solid start for the new Zealand however F. Coffin have been just out for the 7 runs of 6 balls but E. Birch have played an outstanding knock 64 runs out of 53 balls in the tricky pitch to bat like that . with the 6 boundaries . he have been keeping on scoring runs and keeps the net run rate on track and reduces the pressure of the other batsman on the other side of the crease. and the great knock at the end by Williamson at the end have changed the match completely because he have scored 44 runs out of 24 balls with the 3 boundaries and 1 sixer . that knock have changed the match and brings the score to 146/3 at the end of over 20. Greene and Plummer have been bowled good for west indies but without the co ordination of other bowlers on the team they have been not able to make the impact on the match bigger.

West Indies have been struggled from the start of the innings peters and john smith have been out for 0 and we have lost 3 wickets inside the 2 overs. 6/3 at the end of 1.3 overs and not even an single batsman have been stepped up for us to get the decent score. the highest score which the player have been scored for our team is Plummer that too 27 runs of 29 balls. Needs to say that New Zealand bowlers have been ripped through our batting lineup and makes us to lose badly. New Zealand bowler Candie have been taken 4 wickets in just 3.2 overs and with him all other bowlers of New Zealand bowlers have been joined hands together and ripped on our batting lineup. we have been all out for 82 runs in 18.2 overs.

Calvin Candie of New Zealand Is The Man Of The Match......................

SECOND T20i AGAINST INDIA

An absolute run-fest at the Moss Emporium saw the West Indies edge out India by just 6 runs in a thrilling, high-scoring Twenty20 encounter. On a beautifully flat batting track, both sides showcased incredible firepower, but it was the West Indies middle-order blitz that ultimately made the difference.

First Innings: West Indies Firepower Proves Decisive :-

Winning the toss and electing to bat, the West Indies suffered an immediate setback when B. Gray-Nicholls fell for a duck on the second ball of the match to V. Giridharan. However, that was as good as it got for the Indian bowling attack. Peters set the platform with a brisk 48 off 33 balls, but the real fireworks came from an unbeaten 116-run partnership between Hyron Henry and Berkeley Jones. Henry was particularly devastating, smashing a brutal 67* off just 33 deliveries (including 8 fours and a six) at a strike rate of 203.03. Supported by Jones' elegant 60* off 35 balls, the West Indies rampaged to a massive 208/3.The Indian bowlers struggled to contain the onslaught on the flat deck, with J. Jaspal (1/36) and B. Murti (1/39) finishing as the most economical of the wicket-takers.

Second Innings: Ravuri's Masterclass Falls Just Short :-

Chasing a daunting 209 for victory, India's reply started in identical fashion to the Windies innings, losing P. Hegde for a golden duck to F. Patoir. What followed, however, was one of the finest solo batting performances you will see. Huzaifa Ravuri played a masterful, lone-wolf innings, carrying his bat for a sensational 129 off 71 balls*, featuring 11 boundaries and 3 massive sixes. He found a capable partner in wicketkeeper S. Samson (39 off 29), putting together a 124-run stand that kept India well ahead of the required rate for the first 13 overs.

The Turning Point :- Once Samson was dismissed by C. Clarke in the 14th over, the Indian middle-order failed to give Ravuri the boundary-hitting support he desperately needed. Clarke was outstanding under pressure, finishing with crucial figures of (2/39). Alongside tight death bowling from L. Asgarali (1/34), the West Indies managed to squeeze India in the final overs, leaving them agonizingly short at 202/4.
