Wow - that was some collapse , especially as it wasn't on sticky. That is serious bad luck. The last time I checked I thought it was going to be a comfortable win for you and it was going to set up a must win game between us in the last round - it might still be, but I wasn't expecting any breathing room.

I think I'm gone. I haven't done the maths on it but it looks like I'd need quite a big NRR swing. Sledgingshire might be able to bridge the gap but I think I'm just too far away..

I'll have to cross my fingers that my side can come straight back up and that a double senior relegation isn't quite as costly as I think it might be.

I can confirm that 7 wickets falling in 10 balls is not a nice way to lose a game especially when it could relegate us.

:o

I feel your pain!

A very surprising win today. especially after being bowled out for 154 in sunny and dry conditions, but we'll take it as it keeps us in a prize money spot.

Looked like we were on for another ME screwing when they were 102-1 chasing 181, but spinners eventually came good on a Hot/Crumbling.

Still need to work out what is causing our underperformance. Finished 3rd (on NRR from 4th) 8 points adrift of the top two. Team who won the league didn't rate higher than 203k all season. Team who came second never got above 208k, so the fact we were regularly rating 220k and above shows how much we underperformed.

Back to back dismal performances in week's 11 and 12 made it a nervy finish to the season, but fortunately we've turned in two good performances to get over the line and secure promotion back to Div 1. :party

Leyland Lions won by 5 wickets.

A terrible start to the season. We decided to bat first on a even pitch but for some reason we really struggled to score quickly. That was not the case when they batted although we did do better in the last few overs of their innings. Sadly, it was too little too late. Galindo's 71 not out from 58 balls was the only redeeming feature of the whole game.

I don't think I'll play on even again for a while or possibly I just won't bat first.

Surprised to win, having fielded probably the weakest youth team I've put out since the age limit was extended. Opponent suffered one of those FTP collapses that seem to happen quite often these days; 93-4 became 105-8 despite being against my CENSORED-weak bowling attack!

Echoes of last season with another heavy defeat. Batting line up again fails to fire - bowled out in 20 overs on a cloudy/slow without making even 100. Maybe I should start putting some defensive batting orders on for T20 matches!

Relegation reprobates won by 6 wickets

Relegation reprobates Ruff Royals
Batting - Top Order 14,207 14,805
Batting - Middle Order 11,894 12,227
Batting - Tail 5,191 4,921
Bowling - Seam 13,653 (8) 14,274 (12)
Bowling - Spin 14,012 (12) 13,272 (8)
Fielding/Keeping 16,334 17,656
Overall 238,322 245,231

We were made to bat first on a dry pitch. We lost a couple of early wickets but recovered quite nicely but with about 6 overs to go we lost a load of wickets which really set back our run rate and meant we only had 131 to defend when at one stage I was hoping for 160. It wasn't terrible from our bowlers but they couldn't quite defend it.

Not the best start to what I would have liked to have been a promotion season.
