Ruff Royals Sledgingshire
Batting - Top Order 7,440 7,207
Batting - Middle Order 5,029 5,848
Batting - Tail 3,857 3,490
Bowling - Seam 6,189 (16) 5,440 (12)
Bowling - Spin 6,105 (4) 7,439 (8)
Fielding/Keeping 9,206 9,511
Overall 119,930 122,429

Sledgingshire won by 6 wickets

Thought I had a chance for a while but a few costly fielding errors and not taking enough wickets proved crucial.

Positives were a nice 62 from Fitzmaurice, the usually excellent Carr picking up 53, and that's about it.

The ratings aren't great but aside from international weeks they should only get better for the rest of the season.

Ruff Royals won by 7 wickets

Daniel's XI Ruff Royals
Batting - Top Order 13,086 11,783

Bowling - Spin 13,058 (10) 12,897 (20)
Fielding/Keeping 14,300 16,108
Overall 214,261 229,939

I may or may not take the MKMC more seriously this season but, with players away on international duty in the coming week, I thought it was worth playing a few more first teamers to give myself a chance of making it to the next round. Bennett, who is one of those international players, was great picking up 2-36 (the rest of the bowlers weren't great on a slow pitch) and scoring a sensational 85 not out. His batting was, in some ways, eclipsed by Laurence who scored 83 from 65 balls.

Lost against my promotion rivals today, my opponent bottled the cup and threw the second round.

I'll have to ensure that doesn't work out for him in the long run, I can't afford another season in league 3 T20 wise.

Totally outclassed today. We made 230 on an even pitch and we had a some late runs to thank to get that total. 53 for Daniel, 34 not out for Norris, and 25 not out for Vaughn. It was chased with relative ease.

Forgot to change my team. 3 international players away. This is not going to go well! :doh

N. Kaondera (lf) 9.2-1-34-2, T. Zondeki 9 (10b)
End of over 50 (1 run) - Ruff Royals(218-10) RR 4.36

Not a good enough score to win but not a complete disaster. 1 batter is bowling though; let's see if he can pick up a wicket.

Galindo to Patel : [catch] Patel what have you done? There was no need for that shot. Slower full ball on middle, Patel tries to go big over long on but does not get the distance and holes out to Zondeki in the deep.
P. Patel c T. Zondeki b. K. Galindo 16 (24b 0x4 0x6) SR:66.67

He gets the wicket! :dance

Edit: K. Galindo (rfs) 5-0-20-1, P. Yavatkar 23 (39b), M. Adair 15 (30b)
End of over 20 (5 runs) - Ffoh(89-3). 130 runs required from 30 overs. RR 4.45 RRR 4.33

That's pretty decent figures for an average summary bowler. He is due to bowl late on so I'm not sure I'll see him bowling again.

I've certainly been guilty of forgetting to submit lineups, so this is in no way meant as a criticism of you, but an average summary bowler going 8.3 - 0 - 42 - 3 (especially when two wickets are top order bats) at this level is ludicrous. Obviously not the strongest Div 1 opponent you could have faced, but still it highlights a massive issue in the game when a player like that isn't getting completely carted. Sure a wicket or two could happen by fluke, but should be going for a minimum 10-12 per over in my opinion.

I know they had players away too but I'm surprised they didn't rate higher. 1 of the players that got picked would probably have played anyway but, yeah, at the very least I would not have expected Galindo to have been economical. Picking up a wicket is not out of the realms of possibility but I'd have expected 8+ an over economy and would have counted myself lucky if it was at the low end of that.

Ruff Royals won by 8 runs

An important win on an uneven pitch which was largely set up by the batters. It was easily Matambanadzo's best T20 performance with 86 from 58 balls. We didn't get many wickets but we were economical enough early on that it was always going to be a struggle for their batters. Tancred was the stand out with 2-21.

It's still a very tight league especially regarding the relegation battle with 3 teams on 8 points and 3 teams on 12.
