We were put into bat which is not what I wanted to do and, apart from the first 3 overs we struggled to score quickly enough to set a good total. We ended up only making 114, despite a nice 56 from Bullock, which we were never going to be able to defend. They won comfortably with 10 balls to spare.

Unbeaten and top of the league so far, playing second placed JAffna8CC today who are eight points behind us. Although they will no doubt out rate us, so we are the underdogs.

Okay, I guess but I think we might have needed more.

Mills was good considering his age, hitting 37 as he approaches his 23rd birthday. McCall was great and was run out for 63 from 45 balls.

Pretty much a carbon copy of the team's last senior match. Kept the opponent to an achievable score, but top order folded immediately and the middle order weren't quite able to play catch up. On paper my batting line up isn't that bad, but they are frequently blown away by opposition bowlers.

Crestfallen Sidekicks South London's Number One CC
Batting - Top Order 12,886 8,820
Batting - Middle Order 9,154 12,288

Bowling - Spin 13,063 (4) 8,696 (8)

Overall 201,243 207,825

W. Burrows (lfs) 4-0-26-1, A. Idroos 10 (9b), J. Andersen 0 (1b)
End of over 20 (5 runs) - Crestfallen Sidekicks(120-8). 23 runs required from 0 overs. RR 6.00 RRR 0.00

Ruff Royals won by 33 runs

Ruff Royals Topmen
Batting - Top Order 12,814 12,230
Batting - Middle Order 12,194 11,110
Batting - Tail 3,999 5,952
Bowling - Seam 13,818 (8) 12,924 (16)
Bowling - Spin 14,042 (12) 13,022 (4)
Fielding/Keeping 16,494 14,553
Overall 231,274 219,595

We both had a couple of players away on international duty but, judging by the ratings, we coped better with that. The bowlers did well with Ten Dam taking 4-23 and Hodges, who didn't have the best starts to the season, taking 4-18. We bowled them out for 123 after we scored 156.

It was a much needed win as 2 of the other 3 sides in a relegation battle also won.

ANOTHER last ball loss, couldn't defend 17 from the last over!

you were very unlucky. I logged on around 10ish today to check the weekly senior training, was a bit annoyed I didn't have any pops ... then realised I was a day ahead of myself  fortunately the team had enough quality to get over the line today, but certainly wasn't the side I would have picked

Playing a half arsed 50% youth only can't be bothered to play all the game team today, so expecting a good kicking.

Ruff Royals won by 124 runs

A good win. We decided to bat first. We lost 2 early wickets but then had a 188 run stand between Alphonso Patterson (115 runs from 80 balls) and House (94 runs from 89 balls). Gilbert also added 48 to get us to 303.

That was far too much for them to deal with and Combs produced his best bowling to end with 5-36 as we bowled them out for 179.
