Q. Fattah (rfs) 8-0-45-1, S. Langley 30 (28b), D. Burns 5 (10b)
End of over 40 (13 runs) - Ffoh(147-9) RR 3.67
A good bowling effort but we could have had them all out for 123 and 130. Bennett was brilliant and ended with 4-16 from his 8 overs.
D. Burns (rfm) 3-0-11-1, L. Durham 9 (15b), J. Harrison 6 (15b)
End of over 5 (5 runs) - Ruff Royals(16-1). 132 runs required from 35 overs. RR 3.20 RRR 3.77
Ames hasn't had the best day he could have picked up a wicket but for 2 drops and then he was out first ball in our reply.

63 for Durham and 38 not out for Schwartz saw us over the line. If I were to rate like this for the whole season then I'd be fairly confident I'd get promotion. However, it's Banerjee's final game for the youth side so my ratings are going to drop a lot with the loss of my top keeper.

End of over 41 (4 runs) - Bathaloner(140-7) RR 3.41
We did great to get them to 114-7 on a slow pitch but we've really struggled to get the last three wickets. We've just dropped Duckworth too.

M. Roberson (lf) 8-0-30-6, L. Waterhouse 28 (52b)
End of over 45 (2 runs) - Bathaloner(158-10) RR 3.51
Roberson comes back on and finishes things off. He's been excellent today. It's a good effort with the ball although Bathaloner have just got enough runs to make it a defendable total. I would expect them to rate higher than us so their superior quality might tell especially as my batters are not always the most dependable.

First 10 overs were very good.
D. Duckworth (lm) 5-0-27-0, S. Whitehead 23 (28b), W. Mills 22 (34b)
End of over 10 (5 runs) - Ruff Royals(53-0). 106 runs required from 40 overs. RR 5.30 RRR 2.65
Next three not quite as good.
W. Takarusenga (rm) 2-0-8-1, J. House 1 (3b), M. Schmidt 1 (3b)
End of over 13 (2 runs) - Ruff Royals(63-2). 96 runs required from 37 overs. RR 4.85 RRR 2.59

Re: England League and Cup Discussion
It's been a proper collapse here. 59-0 and only needing about 2.5 runs an over to 81-5.
W. Takarusenga (rm) 5-0-17-3, A. Clarke 2 (2b), R. Schneider 0 (2b)
End of over 19 (5 runs) - Ruff Royals(81-5). 78 runs required from 31 overs. RR 4.26 RRR 2.52
This is the last partnership that I can expect to get us the win. I was expecting the batting to be tough but I didn't really expect it to start so well and then go so badly with no real run rate pressure.

Overall 254,168 233,364
gonna be a super tough season for us, but this is a great start, winning by 44 runs against a 21K rating deficit. Won the toss and had a bat on sticky/overcast, was a strange innings with Whitworth top scoring with just 28, but most of the side made contributions as we limped to a respectable 157/10 in our 50. Our bowling was superb in reply, everyone picking up at least one wicket, the star being Mateta with figures of 7.2 - 2 - 12 - 3. Still fully expecting to get relegated, but a very pleasing way to start the season, and at least we avoid another 0 - 0 - 14 season like season 51

That was very close. Clarke made 39 which played a big part in getting us the win but the bowlers still had to score 15 runs to get us across the winning line. A bit of a strange innings from Clarke; who was dropped twice and top scored but occasionally took a single off the second or third ball to expose our weaker batters.
Judging by the ratings, it's looking like a battle between three teams to avoid relegation and two of those teams have already picked up wins! It's probably a strange thing to write but I think I'm going to enjoy this relegation battle more than the ones of the previous two seasons even though I'm much more likely to relegate this time around.
