Q. Fattah (rfs) 8-0-25-3, A. Mcdonald 34 (44b), M. Sanford 9 (12b)
End of over 40 (5 runs) - The Dross(171-9) RR 4.28

Not too bad a bowling effort on a dry pitch. Fattah took 3-25 and Pithey impressed with 2-19.

The batters have a bit of work to do though.

End of over 11 (maiden) - Ruff Royals(38-3). 134 runs required from 29 overs. RR 3.45 RRR 4.62

We're struggling with the bat. We were going okay but then lost 2 quick wickets. It looks like I'm going to need Delap to perform great with the bat in his final youth game.

That was closer than I would have liked but a win is a win.

Delap signs off his youth career with 68 not out which effectively wins us the game.

Fielding/Keeping 17,702 17,271
Overall 252,552 236,879

We couldn't even get a consolation wicket in crumbling/cloudy conditions. It's early days but I've already got a feeling that I should accept a double relegation and perhaps concentrate on a cup run before attempting promotions next season.

If we keep playing like this it might not be impossible for a few players to get to atrocious form!

won the toss and had a bat on cloudy/uneven. Was looking very dodgy at 85/5, but 76 (89) from Zaha, 33 (47) from Kouyate and an unbeaten 47* (46) from Olise saw us reach a respectable 229/9 in our 50. opps had a strong opening partnership of 67, but from there the wickets kept tumbling on a regular basis, with Olise again being the star of the show with figures of 8-1-34-3. In the end we came out with a 56 run win.

Looks like it'll be a very competitive league, plenty of strong teams, so pleasing to get off to a winning start.

It was closer than a 6 wicket win might suggest. Good bowling from Pithey with 4-16 on a crumbling pitch but we struggled to reach 115 to win. We were just behind the run rate required with 2 overs to go but Obuya saved us by smashing 18 runs in 5 balls of the penultimate over. Ames hit 37 and Obuta ended up 28 not out from just 13 balls.

Our bowling just isn't strong enough for this league this season. Our batting wasn't great either but I usually think poor batting is the result of bowling not being good enough even if the opponents don't score an insurmountable total.

3-28 for Combs was a decent effort. Patterson needs to improve quickly.
