Nothing went right really. From a drop in the first over, when we were bowling, to one of my best bowlers getting smashed all around the park. Despite that, 160 wasn't a complete disaster on an uneven pitch. We did find out what a complete disaster actually looked like when we lost 3 wickets in our first over. If that hadn't ended our chances then the wicket of my best batter, Durham, did as we were now just 9 runs for 4 wickets.

Miracles aside, this ends any chance we might have had for the title. There was also quite a considerable drop in ratings despite only having one player away on international duty albeit an important allrounder.

Had to sell/fire my two best players to balance the books, so match ratings have taken a bit of a hit. However given how poorly the team performed in the first half of the season, I'm not too concerned about the impact on results! Third win from the last 4 T20 matches, but league is still really tight with 5 teams on 16 points, so still plenty to do if we are to avoid relegation.

We were made to bat first and I did not expect 126 to be enough on dry. It was a great bowling effort and the best figures were for Schneider who took 3-24.

We're now just 4 points from safety although I suspect our NRR is going to be a big problem.

We started off great by winning the toss on a dry pitch, batting first, and getting to 99-0. Then we were 118-1 but not long after we had collapsed to 143-6 before finally ending on 192-9. So we were a bit short of what I had hoped we'd get. Mitchell performed best for us with 73 from 94 balls.

G. Pithey (lf) 5-0-39-1, U. Tendulkar 0 (0b), E. Prospere 61 (98b)
End of over 26 (7 runs) - Relegation reprobates(106-7). 87 runs required from 14 overs. RR 4.08 RRR 6.21

The bowling is going pretty well but it looks like Prospere will be the key. Reynolds has done surprisingly well with the ball so far with 2-15 from his 4 overs.

Surprised by the size of the win but six wickets for our quality bowler Swanson no doubt helped.

End of over 36 (3 runs) - Relegation reprobates(165-7). 28 runs required from 4 overs. RR 4.58 RRR 7.00

I can't really see us winning now. Prospere is proving impossible to get out and is taking most of the strike. Tendulkar's accumulator talent keeps triggering too.

Fielding/Keeping 7,432 8,996
Overall 121,543 124,545

Relegation reprobates won by 2 wickets

We managed to get Prospere out in the end but it was too late and Tendulkar more than doubled his previous best score to remain 23 not out and hit the winning runs.

We're now level on points at the top with 3 teams. It's going to be an interesting title run-in.

I rested a couple of players (and I've only just realised that I wasn't 8 points behind safety; I was only behind on nrr. I shouldn't have rested those players :doh ). My replacement keeper dropped 2 or 3 chances which wasn't great. I probably shouldn't have decided to switch things up by bowling first on a sticky pitch either.

Other than that the game/day went well!

Won the toss and had a bat on sunny/sticky. Ebiowei did very well to make 63 (80) and Puncheon and Kouyate both made decent contributions to drag us to 194/10 in our 50 overs. In reply Gallagher was absolutely superb with figures of 6.5 - 1 - 15 - 6 as we emerged with a 55 run win. In a decent position 8 points clear with 5 games to go, but got a tricky run of fixtures coming up and our NRR isn't great, so still a lot of work to do.

Another disappointing result in a season of disappointing results. Home advantage, and playing more spinners on a crumbling wicket, can't save us from a thrashing against a similar rated team. Opponent also bought 10 highly rated older players for next to nothing in the last week or so, meaning that their team has gone from rating 180k to 220k in a fortnight. Unfortunately the state of the transfer market makes that possible, but it makes it hard to prepare against teams.

140 on a green pitch wasn't too bad but was certainly not going to be easy to defend either. Marwat hit 62 from 48 balls for a personal best. We made a good start to the bowling and kept the pressure on throughout. Fattah ended up with 4-23.

Exceptional rated finger spinner going for 10.5 an over on a windy/crumbling cost me. If we lose next week as well we'll be back in the relegation area.
