Re: Zimbabwe cup
Dear entrants.
Welcome to the 2nd season of the Zimbabwe cup!
I have pulled some connections and had the tournament start earlier than initually anned and the first round wuill start next Saturday, and the draw will be released tomorrow.
That means that this coming Monday will be the Monday of.round 1, and all participants who are FTP members wilp be required to make a Zimbabwean youth recruit. To help remember, my suggestion is to go to your academy right now and set Zimbabwe as your default, as most people recruit automatically and forget to change the country.
Please don't sell or retire your player until I send a message out confirming that I have checked. I have to do it manually and if I don't see your player I will assume that you didn't make one and you will forfeit your match.
Of course non-members are exempt.
If anyone is interested in NAT's, we would love to have you in our Zinbabwean discord channel
https://discord.gg/CRFnDf4GpC
We are also currently looking for an assistant to join our senior team so flick me a message if you're interested
Good luck everyone!
I love each and every one of you.

Re: Zimbabwe cup
Ok the draw is out, and the random seeding has certainly shaken things up, there are some really tough games and we will see some big name teams booted out early.
Games to watch in round 1.
Agitated Flora ranked 8 in the world will play against the Royal who are ranked 2 in the world (I really regret random seeding now God help me!)
Sunrise are ranked 4 in the world playing against Boundary boys ranked 37 in the world
Mumbai Titans are ranked 64 in the world and are playing against Topmen who are ranked 47 in the world.
Staindrop Rockets ranked 49 play against Armstrong 13's ranked 94 in the world.
One of these teams will be be the first entrant into this competitions hall of shame, which is a weekly shoutout for the highest rated team to be knocked out. I hope it's not me.
If you get a good recruit show it off below we would love to see it!
Don't forget to set your youth recruit default to Zimbabwe now, so you don't accidentally forget to do it on Monday. Don't sell or retire your player until I message saying it is safe.

Re: Zimbabwe cup
Hey everyone and welcome to round 2.
Congratulations to everyone who has made it this far, and to all those who have been eliminated... goodbye!
Firstly I just want to quickly say, many of you may have heard of the tragic shooting in Sydney over the weekend. This is 1 hour away from where I live, many of us are hurting and coming to terms with what has happened. I just wanted to remind everyone to love each other, and that our community is a welcome one to all races and beliefs.
This is a really strong competition, the entire top 20 are rated 253k+, and we had 6 teams who rated 270k+
We had some seriously close games. The Mackay Cutters won a game on countback! The game ended in a draw and since the Cutters took more wickets they got the win.
The Spectre overcame a 40k ratings defecit to defeat the fully polygamous Married Eleven
Mornington Peninsula had a nailbiting 1 wicket win
We also have our first entry in the tournaments Hall of Shame! A prestigious award given to the highest rated team to be eliminated.
For round 1 our entry is The Flaming Balls of Fury.
The Ohoka Swamphens overcame a 34k ratings defecit to chase 270 with 5 wickets remaining.
In his defence I wouldn't be able to play cricket if my balls were on fire either.
PJ Marsh and Simon Mannering each taking 4 wickets, and a consistent batting effort with 3 players getting 50's got the job done with 3.2 overs to spare.
So commiserations to the Fury, I'll send your wooden spoon in the mail.
Round 2 is going to be a seriously tough round.
Here are my top 3 matches
Sunrise vs The Mighty Imps - both teams will be 270k+ rated and both could have a real chance at taking the title
Indigo Blues vs Paignton Pingers - current ZIM boss vs former assistant showdown.
Ducks Squad vs Kaiapoi Bogans - both massive rated teams as well.
Thanks to everyone for participating!
