Ash, you have two players who make your starting 11 on merit. Smith has outstanding captaincy and reliable experience, Jones has reliable captaincy and outstanding experience.

Do you select as your captain...

a) Smith
b) Jones
c) either of them based on the toss of a coin

Dont forget that experience affects non-captaincy parts of the game. Other than that, good question!

The description of the conditions in the first few lines of commentary frequently seem to contradict the descriptions of the weather and pitch. Which should be believed?

eg.

The weather for the match is expected to be Overcast and the groundsmen have prepared a Slow pitch. Conditions look like they will produce an even contest between bat and ball.

Looking at the weather and pitch descriptions I would expect conditions to be ideal for medium pace bowlers.

The commentary looks at seam and spin bowlers as groups, not at specific seam bowling varieties.

I have had a few answers to this question in the other thread and wondered if you could clarify, to simplify the question (i think) i'll ask it like this:

with regards to % or level or amount of training applied to each...

when training the following how much goes to each skill?

batting or bowling - how much to bat or bowl and how much to tech ?

batting or bowling TECH - how much to batting or bowling and how much to tech?

ALL ROUNDER - how much to batting and how much to bowling and how much to tech?

fielding - how much to fielding and how much to tech?

purpose of the question is to work out how to train an all rounder in the most effective way without tech or bat/bowl getting too far ahead.

This can be worked out fairly easily by tracking your training results over a period of time.

Does the skill of the bowler affect the probability of of accumulator triggering on a dot ball?

Indirectly, yes

Bowler variety - spin heavy attacks
Teams playing a high proportion of spinners (eg 7 or more spells out of 10) will receive a slightly smaller 'bowler variety' bonus than previously.

Now we have shorter and longer spells.
Would this still take effect? and Does it take effect is there is 31+ spin overs?

The calculation remains the same - % of spin overs.

With regards to the variety bonus for bowlers, are there effectively two bonuses provided? One for handedness and one for bowler type?

A team of RM, RM, RM, RM, LM has more variety than one of RM, RM, RM, RM, RM

Hi Boss,

I pulled a real low wage guy late last season, who I am planning on keeping. I raised a thread in the Bugs forum about his wage discount being only 2% which turned out to be correct since his wage could only reduce that much to get to the minimum of $400. So the question is, as his wage increases over time, will I eventually get the original 5% I should get for a home grown youth? DZ and I discussed this elsewhere but he didn't know.

I was winning the auction for a player that was perfect for my team. I also wanted to check up on the progress of an old player, and found that they were both in the same team that had become computer controlled.

Is it possible that a computer controlled team would ever transfer list its own players?

I suspect the team was closed for cheating. When that happens, any players from that team are removed from the transfer market, and any bids made by the cheating team are removed.
