Recruit Kenyan!GM-crowfan65 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 17, 2023 12:44 amfor those interested, this is the 16yo YR for this season by undiscounted wage
Maybe do the countries low on the list and recruit from them in the next few weeks.

Re: Open Forum (Ask GMs)
It'd be handy if the random nationality option automatically defaulted to the countries low on the list. I imagine the majority of youth recruits are still generated via random country pulls? Some pay a subscription for the option to recruit for a particular country rather than trying to fix the list.

This is a great point. Crowie is it possible to see the distribution of random pulls only?boscorp wrote: ↑Thu Aug 17, 2023 10:02 pmIt'd be handy if the random nationality option automatically defaulted to the countries low on the list. Just here to contribute a few cracking commentary lines and spend hours on the transfer market.

Possibly, I can assume anyone who is not a member today ws not a member all season.
But I will have to include on fired recruits as well.

I assumed it already included fired recruits. Members can pull randoms so the distribution info should still be handy regardless.GM-crowfan65 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 17, 2023 11:21 pmPossibly, I can assume anyone who is not a member today ws not a member all season.

Re: Open Forum (Ask GMs)
I thought you were going to include the wage breakdown like the other chart did.
But yeah, maybe the random distribution could be weighted to suit the bottom 4 countries on your list on a week by week basis.

- Looking at just the YR random distribution, am I reading that there were a total of 217 random recruits that resulted in a West Indian player? The bigger table shows 234 total West Indian recruits, right? That doesn't make sense to me, since that would mean only 17 recruits all seasons from members pulling West Indies players. Am I misinterpreting these tables?
- Do the totals in these tables include youth recruits who have since been retired?
- There's a lot of variance in the apparent probability of pulling a star player (let's call that someone w/ a starting wage of $1k or more) from country to country. If pulling an Australian, one had a 17% chance of getting a star player. If pulling a South African, one had just an 8% chance. Academy level still affects initial quality of youth pulls, right? Is this variance between countries attributable solely to academy levels of those pulling for those countries? Or is something else affecting this?
- Sorry if I missed this, but to be clear: Is there some benefit being given in terms of quality of youth pulls to those selecting to pull from particular countries for either members or non-members, or for those selecting to random country for their default youth pull? In other words, is something other than academy level affecting quality of youth pulls?

Re: Open Forum (Ask GMs)
The bigger table with 234 WI recruits are only those left in the game at that time
The Random distribution table showing 217 recruits is for all recruits inc those fired.
The difference in quality is mostly down to the effect of academies.
iirc the number of Aussies in Deluxe is very high hence the number of good recruits they receive.
Of course luck plays its part too

Re: Open Forum (Ask GMs)
For this season's U20s T20 tour, West Indies had five games in sunny weather. For the 2nd YOD tour, we'll have five games on uneven. Ireland will also have all five games on uneven. Is something wrong with the algorithm, or is this just luck?

there is 12/15 on uneven for that tour, Aust also have 4/5. It is pure luck.

Re: Open Forum (Ask GMs)
How does fatigue work in the ME?
I was playing a match against a team whose opening bowler was 'Listless' fatigue. I've been assuming that this means the player starts the match tired (or nearly tired) - I noticed that when this player batted for a few balls the commentary 'player is tired' came up pretty much immediately after he came forthe crease. However during the change of innings the commentary then stated he was no longer tired (despite starting as 'listless') he then bowled 3 over for 4 runs (so performed very well) despite this fatigue rating. After 3 overs the commentary then stated that he was tired again. His last over then went for 16!
My question are:
1) Do players with worse fatigue play worse (than they would otherwise) right from the start of the match, or does it require further fatiguing before any detriment in performance is seen?
2) Is the detriment in performance an 'all or nothing' thing based on the tiredness assessment (e.g. do they perform normally when not tired, and worse only one the 'tired' commentary has appeared), or is the impact more graded?
For reference match was: match 6545420, player I'm referring to is Wa njuguna

Re: Open Forum (Ask GMs)
Fatigue and endurance feed into something called to starting energy
Each in game action, fielding, batting, bowling etc use up said energy and when it hits those markers you see (tired msgs) then performance is effected. Ironically if a tired player bats and gets out early or his a bowler who doesn't bat in the first inns he may start his bowling spell less tired (in energy) than he was at the start of the match.

Is this why late in a Nat Tour, the win ratio balance seems to switch to batting first from bowling?GM-crowfan65 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 22, 2023 1:21 pmIronically if a tired player bats and gets out early or his a bowler who doesn't bat in the first inns he may start his bowling spell less tired (in energy) than he was at the start of the match.
