As Crowie said - it used to be that way until YT20 started. Now YOD gives less experience than SOD, but it is made up for by the experience gained through YT20.

Possibly, although keep in mind that you don't want your match ratings to drop much more in order to get your full sponsorship payment each week.StefB wrote: ↑Tue Apr 04, 2023 11:37 amOk. So I should play him in all SOD games and YT20 games since the YOD is div 5 and the SOD is div 4? So Yt20 is better than ST20?GA-James018 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 04, 2023 11:24 amAs Crowie said - it used to be that way until YT20 started. Pretty good youth pull today, but not entirely sure what to do with him. Could he be an all-rounder, or should I just focus on making him a great LH batter?

I upgraded my academy to Luxurious recently. I noticed that it only provides 2.5% boost from Lavish. If I train a youth from 16 to 21 and say on lavish i would increase his rating by 20k. On Luxurious it would only add 500 extra rating. Combining weekly costs and the huge investment, is it really worth it?
Also my recruits since upgrading to Luxurious have been 18k, 13k, 13k, 16k and 18k. I was getting better recruits on Lavish and lower academies throughout my last season (atleast 4 were 20k+).

Recruitment goes through highs and lows, ignore small sample sizes, they will be slightly better overall at each academy upgrade.
Regarding value of the academy it comes down to what your goal is. Financially superior is suggested to be the most efficient spend of your money but if you are trying to compete at higher levels over the long term you want your academies up at lavish/luxurious/deluxe.
That is unless you are intentionally zagging and going little to no investment and regularly replacing an older squad with other old cheap players with money saved on the transfer market.
I personally operate at deluxe and have got my affiliate to lavish and am an advocate of higher academy’s. But I also have a bank roll and the sponsorship to help maintain that for my main

Is it worth it? To a lot of managers yes. It depends on what you want out of it.Kaptain28 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 07, 2023 8:37 amI upgraded my academy to Luxurious recently. I run on a reasonable academy and spend about 2 million a season less than yourself.
My youth recruits with training are good enough for div4 and not adequate for promoting to my seniors. Some sell, others retire. I'm then able to purchase a few 28yo seniors through the season to play 2-3 seasons along with the odd youth if I want to compete in youth. I enjoy competing with my senior squad even if I didn't train them from the start.

Its better to make them a quality bowler, with some batting than a quality batter with some bowling.Ubik23 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 27, 2023 7:53 pmJust purchased this player and am looking for some advice. After I get his fielding up another level or two, I'm leaning toward traing him as an allrounder, but I'm wondering if focusing on bowling so he's a bowler with some batting is a better approach. I haven't been playing long enough to get a solid idea of traing times, so any guidance is greatly appreciated.
At the lower levels of the game you probably arent going to notice much. He will score hundreds and take 5 wickets, but as you go up the leagues the bad bowling will get punished a bit more.
Run rate pressure is big part of the game and some of the best batsman can get out because they are left chasing too many runs

Re: The "How to Train?" topic (part 2)
Hi all,
A bit of a general question really- what ages do you start/stop training certain skills? I know for example, power is easier to train in late 20s, and fielding in youth, but are there certain ages where you put a hard stop on training fielding or bowling/batting and move to power etc?
Thanks
