K. Kombuis (rws) 6-2-27-2, F. Weasley 5 (10b)
End of over 42 (maiden) - USA(186-10) RR 4.43

Not even close to batting out the overs again. :( I think we might need a miracle.

Definitely a tour to forget. 2 of the games we were 10k+ behind on match ratings, 1 game we were about 5k lower and the other 2 were pretty even. So a lack of quality has been our downfall really.

Big thanks to spark who noticed my bowling faux pas and fixed it before the orders deadline.

Home West Indies
Away USA
Ground The Bourda
Match Nat One Day Friendly
Date 27 Sep 14 15:00
Crowd 13,330
Weather Windy
Pitch Crumbling

Our batting was absolute pants, except for:

P. Spencer (wk) c & b Camacho 89 126 7 0 70.63

Reminds me of when my old keeper was the only one to do anything decent up the order.

Total: (10 wickets, 49.3 overs) 198 RR: 4.00
A. Senna (rws) 10 1 30 5 3.00 1 1

Well, can't say wristies aren't effective on their homeboy turf.

Thankfully ...

Fall of wickets: 1-11 (M. Diablo, 2.2 ov) 2-22 (G. Athanaze, 3.5 ov) 3-53 (T. Barrett, 12.5 ov) 4-54 (M. Wallace, 13.1 ov) 5-87 (T. Deadfall, 21.5 ov) 6-90 (A. Camacho, 24.6 ov) 7-105 (J. Bhagoo, 28.4 ov) 8-116 (G. Yubari, 30.3 ov) 9-116 (A. Senna, 30.6 ov) 10-119 (W. Adams, 32.1 ov)

No big wicket hauls for small increments but steady wickets still win a game.

F. Weasley (lfs) 7 2 24 4 3.43 0 0

Our own spinner got the work done.

West Indies USA
Batting - Top Order 14,822 15,147
Batting - Middle Order 12,462 9,214
Batting - Tail 5,863 7,987
Bowling - Seam 13,710 (20) 14,334 (30)
Bowling - Spin 15,001 (30) 15,295 (20)
Fielding/Keeping 16,323 16,292
Overall 248,120 243,876

That tail order is weird ...

Is the middle order ratings batsmen 4 to 7 inclusive? I can't quite remember. If so Youssif batting at 7 will have affected those ratings quite a lot I'd imagine.

I did notice the slightly odd batting order at the end. I thought it might be some tactic I'd not heard about which aimed to make the bowlers who can bat a bit face the most tired bowlers. So I left it alone.

Good win against a side who seem to be fairly confident of promotion.

Top 1-4
Middle 5-8

We've gone from having an all rounder surplus to an all rounder deficit. In fact, we seem to have an all round deficit...

In that case, playing Youssif and Hall lower down would have helped those middle order ratings but not by that much as Salinas and Chabrol can't exactly be classed as allrounders.

Pakistan USA
Batting - Top Order 14,996 14,762
Batting - Middle Order 9,355 11,192
Batting - Tail 5,347 6,844
Bowling - Seam 14,870 (30) 14,963 (20)
Bowling - Spin 14,661 (20) 15,110 (30)
Fielding/Keeping 16,708 16,099
Overall 237,502 247,906

Another solid win from batting first. 270 can't be beat on crumbling 99% of the time. Marsh and Meija did most of the work.

Salinas, Hawkins and Youssif took wickets. Weasley went wicketless but 5 runs from 6 overs. Struth.

Nice win. If you can work out how to turn good friendly performances into good tour match performances then we'll do alright.

T. Dildar (rf) 5-0-23-0, B. Rios 17 (27b), M. Moonface 17 (28b)
End of over 9 (6 runs) - USA(40-0) RR 4.44

I hesitate to say anything in case I jinx it, but it's a decent start. Long way to go though.

114/3 at the halfway stage. A decent platform, but we could do with another 150+runs.

We seem to have a long tail today
