Abu Dhabi have already done the double over Ajman and will hope to make it 3 in 3 over them, but before that they will want to continue their domination by another win in the final group game.

Ajman meanwhile will be up against it in the final, facing the dominating side and will be wanting to win the final group stage fixture to build some momentum and fine-tune their match ratings in preparation.

A DRAWN FINAL.

The final couldn’t be split with two wins each and a drawn.

Abu Dhabi are the inaugural champions of the ECL given their dominance through the group stages (winning 5/6 ties and beating Ajman comfortably in both meetings).

What a final it was, the ECLs bankable win Illawarra Dragons losing to the rating wildcard Time Travelling Circus. Penky doing all the hard lifting winning both matches but a loss and a draw in the other matches meaning a drawn final.

Let’s talk about that draw. Abu Dhabi needed to chase 300 on a flat. 21 required off the final 2 overs. 39th over sees 6 runs and 3 wickets. Last over need 15. 12 of the first 3 balls. Runout. Single. Need 2 runs off the last ball. Hit straight to the fielder who drops it. Abu Dhabi scamper through to take the draw and the ECL title by the barest of margins.
