Apologies for the lack of noise on here.

A mixed bag of results (2 wins, 2 losses) mean we need a win today to avoid the drop back down to Div 2.

If anyone is interested in joining our team as an assistant (to learn more about the National side of FTP), please flick me a message.

We remain well within the hunt of a finals berth with 2 wins and a very close (4 run) loss to the undefeated Canada.

The great challenge on day 4 with Australia standing in our way. Wins against AUS and West Indies would sneak us through to the semi.

A two wicket win against Australia gives us our third win of the week! :clap

U20 Group 1 extremely tight going into day 5 with 5 teams mathematically able to win through to the finals. Canada and UAE on 3 wins, AUS, New Zealand and the West Indies all on 2 wins.

Day 5 sees Australia play the winless Ireland, Canada play New Zealand and UAE up against the West Indies. πŸ‡¦πŸ‡ͺ

We ended up 7 runs short of winning our group flawlessly. Take something away knowing the two teams that qualified in our group were the grand finalists.

We go again next season with a new belief that a UAE World Cup is possible thanks to the seniors.

Well FTPs flawless democracy system has landed me another term in charge.

I think most know but this will be my fourth and final term in charge. Two last chances to win a World Cup. Very exciting crop of players coming through!

We will start doing an assessment of the talent pool and planning for this seasons tours.

We have two vacant assistant roles so anyone interested should reach out to me.

A four win week and we claim another Division 1 title.

To finish the season (and the division format era) with Division 1 titles in both T20 and OD is impressive. We now look towards the upcoming World Cup.

Our best batting performances came from Mukhtar 198 runs from 4 innings at an average of 99 (with two not outs) and Abdellah 178 from 3 innings at 89.

In spin conditions our spinners dominated our wicket taking. 7 wickets from Yasar and 6 each from Khalil and Saleh.

Thanks again to those who support and youth pull UAE!

Apologies all - my World Cup commentary was all in the UAE discord. We gave it our all and fell short losing in the semi final to Bermuda.

A bit shattered we didn’t get the chance to play Saleh in a World Cup final. He’s the player I’ve been so excited about for a few seasons (helps he’s also my club player and a one of a kind talent). His departure after the next tour will start to wrap up the end of my nats tenure. As I mentioned last election this will be my final term in charge (4 was my limit when I started).

If anyone is interested we have a vacant assistant role open to anyone. Flick me a message.

A UAE hosted Div 1 Youth One Day Tour on the menu this week. Games are in the UAE slot so start at 0600 Monday to Friday. We have just started bowling against Kenya on a Slow/Overcast Pitch, after Turk won the toss as he captains his nation on debut.

As the U20s transition to 20 Nations, we now get to tour 20 players. Whilst we still have another One Day tour in the old format later in the season, this tour does feel like an end of an era for our squad with several stalwarts having their Youth Nats swan song.

Ibrahim Saleh (Walking Champ)– What a hole this young Spin King will leave (yes I am biased, yes he is an absolute once in a generation talent $12,605 wage before 21 should tell you that). Saleh the sweet salvation of spin, will look to add to his 30 Nat YOD wickets this week. Currently 8th in the UAE U20 all time wicket takers, a big week could see him rocket up (Kaden Musa’s record 66 wickets from 30 matches untouchable) but two or three big bags could easily take Saleh to second or third. 9 wickets for the week would see him equal the great Hud Sam.

Tawfiq Khalil (Emirates Academy) – In any other era Khalil is a standout leg spinner. 4-58 nat U20 career best speaks volumes of the contributions Khalil has made in his 8 Nat YOD caps.

Asif Yasar (Walking Champ) – Outshone by Nadeem, Yasar has arguably been starved of Nat chance but still has a best of 4-64 from 6 appearances. Yasar will be looking to contribute in suitable conditions this week.

Ramiz Rashad (Dawn) – A diamond in the rough in what has been thin seam stocks, Rashad has performed above his cut in previous tours. 3-36 and an economy rate of 3.5 in his two YOD Nat matches.

Makin Haqq (Nana Hammer) – Haqq will be looking for opportunities to sign off his Nat career this week with some big performances. Yet to register a wicket at Nat level in 2 YODs and 4 T20s.

Faraaz Turk (Invincible Knights) – a one and done late call up for Turk who comes in with spades of captaincy and confidence. Hopefully looking to lead his nation to a Div 1 Tour on debut and then waltz into his Youth Retirement.

We thank those 6 for their Nat Contributions and wish them the best in their final tour.

Joining them for the week are:
A. Ababneh (Walking Champ) – Nat Debut
J. Abbas (Emirates Academy) – Nat YOD Debut
S.Nadeem (Buggles United) – 3 Nat YODs bowling ER of 3.73
F. Walliyullah (Perry’s Paratroopers XI) – Nat Debut
Z. Yaseen (Walking Champ) – Nat YOD Debut
F. Hasan (Emirates Academy) – 10 Nat YODs with a batting average of 32.71
D.Omar (Hassanites) – Nat Debut
K.Khatib (Crimson Tide) – Nat Debut
A. Hadi (Buggles United) – Nat Debut
A. Mahmad (Ashburn CC) – Nat YOD Debut
K. Mu’izz (Dragons) – Nat Debut
R. Hadi (Ashburn CC) – Nat Debut
S. Sam (Ashburn CC) – Nat Debut
Q. Jabbar (Ashburn CC) – Nat Debut
