Today we played Kenya in a one day friendly. We won the toss and elected to bat on a crumbling pitch.
Kenya bowled us out for 151. But we were thankful for a good partnership of almost 70 helped between 2 new players playing their first senior international match (Brady and Wiener)
Unfortunately 151 wasn’t enough and although wickets from A Lansom, Ngidhi and Bryant and Kenya won by 6 wickets.
My plan for the game was to try some new faces and a ratings difference of 11k the result wasn’t really surprising.
Next Saturday we face Ireland in a friendly starting at 11.30 ftp time

We had a friendly v Ireland on Saturday. SA won the toss and elected to bat on a slow pitch. Unfortunately it took only 31.1 overs for Ireland to bowl us out for 114. It was always going to be hard to defend the target and so it proved as Ireland reached 115-3 after 27 overs. Wickets from Allan Lansom and Edwin Louw
Next Saturday we have a friendly against our tour hosts India starting a 4.30am ftp time as we look to prepare for the first tour of the season
