Ruff Royals won by 7 wickets.

Sheffield Firsts Ruff Royals
Batting - Top Order 6,429 7,586
Batting - Middle Order 4,416 4,799
Batting - Tail 2,977 3,158
Bowling - Seam 4,909 (12) 5,793 (16)
Bowling - Spin 6,039 (8) 9,570 (4)
Fielding/Keeping 6,483 7,327
Overall 98,571 113,739

Very happy with that, considering my best keeper is away as well as a wrist spinner. And I managed to give some experience to a 16-year-old bowler. :D

The bowling was ok with Vaughn being the best with 2-23. A mention must go to Massey's characterisitically miserly spell of 1-16 from his 4 overs.

Santos starred with the bat hitting a fantastic 68 not out from 52 balls.

Always nice when you can do that and still get a win.

Sure is. It's especially nice considering I've actually got 4 decent 16-year-olds this season so they'll need plenty of games and I might not be able to play all of them when they're 17.

Okay start with Diaz's 2 wickets in an over. I'd like some more wickets but the RR isn't too high at the moment.

Nice.

I've started training my future senior 16 year olds fielding to high as possible in their first season, as this at least means they can contribute something during a game.

I've got one to capable fielding already but I'll probably stop there until some of their other skills are capable too. The main problem with those four are that two of them are mediums but they at least should be pretty decent and I could possibly make one of them an allrounder.

End of over 20 (5 runs) - South London's Number One CC(104-7) RR 5.20

I'm happy with that on an uneven pitch. It's not a certain win but we're certainly capable of doing it and I'd regard us as favourites. Diaz with 3-20, Callaway 2-23, and McCutchin was 2-18.

Yeah, that looks tough. You do occasionally get crumbling pitches that you can score a lot of runs on so maybe that's the case with your game.

Fingers crossed but I can't see it happening, Harford and Fontaine are our two best batsmen but still we are big underdogs.

K. Broughton (rf) 3-0-18-2, R. Fontaine 1 (1b), O. Harford 0 (0b)
End of over 10 (6 runs) - wolfberries(52-3). 110 runs required from 10 overs. RR 5.20 RRR 11.00

Whereas you seem to have your game in the bag.

K. Broughton (rf) 4-0-36-2, R. Fontaine 16 (10b), O. Harford 9 (3b)
End of over 12 (18 runs) - wolfberries(76-3). 86 runs required from 8 overs. RR 6.33 RRR 10.75

Well :think

12.41 W Hayne to Fontaine : [runout] Oh no! Harford's slipped over going for a second run and Plumpton has time to adjust his shirt and tie up his shoelace before taking off the bails.O. Harford run out (E. Wood) 9 (3b 0x4 1x6) SR:300.00

Of course a run out for our specialist Finisher :doh

I don't think there's any coming back from that, unfortunately.

Ruff Royals won by 8 wickets.

Ruff Royals South London's Number One CC
Batting - Top Order 13,488 10,995
Batting - Middle Order 9,934 9,115
Batting - Tail 4,200 3,728
Bowling - Seam 11,824 (16) 9,558 (16)
Bowling - Spin 12,667 (4) 12,763 (4)
Fielding/Keeping 15,868 14,077
Overall 213,857 184,857

62 not out from Kirk meant this was an easy enough game. I imagine things might have been different without South London's Number One's cup exploits.

Should be a boost to our NRR and 2nd place CC Deville look like they're in a tough battle to get a win in their game.
