Two days in a row where I end up heartbroken at the end and where the defeat makes it more likely that I'll be relegated.

A decent batting effort where we reach 194 (scoring no runs from the last over looks to have cost us). Avila was our best bat with 60.

I thought we might do it when we reduced them to 76-4 but they recovered to 152-4. We then came back into the match and they were 191-9 needing 4 runs to win in the last over. Unfortunately for my side, Callaway couldn't get that last wicket and he only ended with 4-35 as they hit the winning run from the penultimate ball of the 50 overs.

That leaves us with the task of defeating Topmen next week who should rate about 20k more than us. That unlikely win would give Danger Hotspurs the title but would only be enough for us if Gavs Boys lose or tie.

We missed out on promotion although I have a feeling that might have been a blessing in disguise.

64 not out from 43 balls for Clarke is just about the only silver lining of the day.

I gave some youngsters some experience. On a slow pitch, Santos hit 114 not out from 62 balls and showed up some of the older players. Paton also hit 58.

The bowling was no problem at all with Moses claiming the best figures of 4 wickets for 5 runs.

We finish the season in 5th place which I'm very happy with.
