Two queries:
Does??
Spin Specialist = Wrist and Finger Spinners Yes
Seam Specialist = Medium, Medium Fast and Fast Yes
And (as an example)
Would Gifted (bowling) equate to Gifted (power) in terms of the incremental increase in training in the particular skill i.e. +5%??
Yes, approximately 20%
Cheers

Re: Quick Questions V4
Hey everyone,
A few questions.
Do boundary hitter and accumulator have the same probability of triggering?
Are there any differences between the special types of bowling abilities? I.e. bouncer, yorker, swing, doosra etc or do they have the same effect just a different name for flavour
How much does "skilled (attribute)" increase the ability of an attribute?
Aside from the New Ball Bowler skill, is there a bonus to opening with quick bowlers, how much benefit is there from doing so and when roughly does the ball start to rough up a bit and become more ideal for spinners?
What does technique do? If I have a batsman with world class batting and atrocious technique, and another with world class technique and atrocious batting, what would they look like? Same question for bowlers
When a catch or great fielding is triggered in the outfield, do all of my fielders have an equal chance of being selected for the roll, or does my captain hide my weaker fielders so less opportunities go to them?
Should my tail bat exclusively on D, or is there value in putting some on A or N. I'm thinking of someone like Nathan Lyon who can't bat so he just tries to smash everything.
Does a batsman with higher power benefit on a lower aggression because their higher power means a higher sr anyway, or do they benefit from higher aggression because a higher base rate gives a larger increase.

No. Accumulator is higher.
Same effect, different name for flavour.
No one knows for sure. It's apparently a % increase though. My guess is 15% but I have no good reason to be correct.
There's a 'penalty' applied in the first 10 overs for spinners. It's worse in Over 1 than it is in Over 10. (Adjust for the short matches).
From the game manual:
This skill is combined with the primary skills of batting, bowling and keeping. Technique is a very important skill that should not be overlooked, as it affects the consistency of a player's performance in a match. For example:
- a player with a high batting skill but a low technique skill will often not play to his potential.
- a high bowling skill coupled with a low technique skill will be capable of taking wickets, but will also often bowl a smattering of poor deliveries.
From the game manual:
Captaincy is, unsurprisingly, of primary importance to the captain of your team and indicates the captain's ability to lead the players in the field and to make tactical decisions such as field placements during a match.
Although captaincy is most important for your captain, the captaincy skills of your other players also have a minor effect on the overall leadership of your team.
Try different things in matches, see if they work. I can't say I've put my tail on Aggro before though.
Both make logical sense, would see an improvement either way. You can tailor it to the match conditions and where they bat in the order. Again it's something you can work out over the course of playing matches and trialling different orders.

Specifically for a batsman with skilled power, if skilled abilities are always a percentage increase. Would it be a viable strategy to train power to a higher level to maximise the increase that the skill offers even if it is at the slight expense of other skills?

Re: Quick Questions V4
If you had a batsman with skilled batting, and another with skilled technique but they were identical in every other aspect. How would you use them differently?
I'm trying to get a better understanding of how technique is different to batting and bowling.
So my thinking is that technique is another way of saying "consistency". An opening batsman would benefit from higher consistency because they could get a solid score on the board and set the platform for the rest of the team, whereas skilled batting would give a batsman a higher range of shots and can therefore be more flexible in whatever aggression they are set to... am I on the right track?
It's probably splitting hairs I'm just really trying to nail this down

I haven't but something to consider especially once wages start to bite, perhaps with bat/bowl or tech but not sure I would for power thoughMadcarrot wrote: ↑Sun Jan 17, 2021 11:22 amSpecifically for a batsman with skilled power, if skilled abilities are always a percentage increase. bat/bowl was how good I could be, tech was how often I would show that

Re: Quick Questions V4
Spinners get a penalty for opening the bowling, however they get buffs in dry and hot conditions and seam bowlers get penalties in both as well. As such is it a viable strategy to play 5 spinners in such conditions?
