Re: Senior NAT Team
The game reminds us that it is indeed possible to have too much of a good thing. I was getting used to wins. I liked it much better than losing.

I havenβt done the exact maths but I think we should promote regardless of the Scotland result. Status of that game is:

Re: Senior NAT Team
National Team's One Day Division 2 Tour of Zimbabwe (11/01/2021 - 15/01/2021)
Results:
6 wicket loss to New Zealand
12 run loss to Sri Lanka
4 wicket win against Zimbabwe
13 run win against Scotland
9 wicket loss to Canada
Ladder:
1st. New Zealand 5 wins 0 losses +0.90 NRR
2nd. Zimbabwe 3 wins 2 losses +0.40 NRR
3rd. Sri Lanka 3 wins 2 losses +0.03 NRR
4th. UAE 2 wins 3 losses -0.52 NRR
5th. Canada 1 win 4 losses -0.32 NRR
6th. Scotland 1 win 4 losses -0.66 NRR
I don't think a win last night would have gotten us the promotion (I haven't done the maths but I think the NRR gap would have been a bridge too far). It would have been nice to have wrapped the tour up confidently and not have the display we had last night.
Now cricket is of course a team game but sometimes its the individual efforts that matter.
Lets have a look how the lads went this week:
Our Best Performers:
1. Aden Talib (188 fantasy points from 2 matches)
2. Mujahid Zakiyy (162 fantasy points from 3 matches)
3. Rahul Nazih (137 fantasy points from 3 matches)
The Shockers:
1. Saad Naser (-11 fantasy points from 3 matches)
2. Rahul Jabbar (-2 fantasy points from 4 matches)
3. David De Gea (32 fantasy points from 3 matches)
Most Runs Scored:
1. Aden Talib (155 runs from 2 innings)
2. Mujahid Zakiyy (154 runs from 3 innings)
3. Ismael Saad (101 runs from 3 innings)
Best Score: Aden Talib with 80 from 123 balls against New Zealand.
Most Wickets Taken:
1. Alan Morrow (5 wickets for 112 runs from 3 matches and 138 balls)
1. Kareef Sameh (5 wickets for 126 runs from 3 matches and 161 balls)
2. Wakil Turk (4 wickets for 118 runs from 3 matches and 148 balls)
Best Figures:
Kareef Sameh with 4/38 against Zimbabwe.
Best Bowling Economy:
Kamal Qassem @ 3.11 an over from his 2 matches and 10 overs.
Best Fielder:
Rahul Nazih (3 catches from his 3 matches)
Shout out to Haqq, Rashid and Alam who all got runouts this tour.
And that's a wrap for another Senior One Day Tour.
Thanks for tuning in to these every day. (I honestly don't know why you guys keep reading them but I'll keep them coming).
Keep pulling UAE youths every Monday night and lets build the empire.
Any mangers with players in the squad or near the picture of tour selection - keep training the lads up.
YOUTH TOUR TIME
Big Youth Boss Heppa has promised that the lads will be giving their best this week to snag some wins despite the youth and developmental stage of our youth squad. (Rome took a few days to build).
Tune in over to the youth page for coverage of that tour.
U-20 One Day Div. 3 Fixture is:
18th January 11.30 Vs. Zimbabwe
19th January 11.30 Vs. Ireland
20th January 11.30 Vs. Kenya
21st January 11.30 Vs. South Africa
22nd January 11.30 Vs. USA
Apologies for the delay on some of the posts this week (Tour Games in the middle of the night aren't ideal but I'll keep trying to get them up as quick as possible). Also apologies if any of the stats above are wrong.
