Re: UAE U20 - News & Discussion
G. King (rfm) 8-0-42-2, H. Sa'eed 47 (75b)
End of over 46 (5 runs) - UAE U20(165-10) RR 3.59
Pathetic effort with the bat, however a 10th wicket partnership of 34 might have just given us a chance. I've seen smaller totals defended in these conditions.

I think we're 20 short there.
Have them 5 down now. 50 or so to get. Need 2 wickets fast

E. Mohammad (rf) 9-1-32-2, D. Persaud 10 (21b), R. John 18 (22b)
End of over 37 (9 runs) - Bermuda U20(135-5). 31 runs required from 13 overs. RR 3.65 RRR 2.38
Find it a bit odd that we collapsed so easily at this point in our innings, yet they're cruising. Would need a miracle from here.

Bugger this one looks like it’s slipping away.
Big fan of the ground we are playing at today. The Chopping Board with a slicing and a dicing end.
Apologies this week has gotten away from me - I’ll catch up the write ups tomorrow hopefully.

Happy for you to have the first two days off. Nothing much to write about really.
We have Australia tomorrow and then two crucial games to finish the week.

Re: UAE U20 - News & Discussion
Somehow we managed to beat Australia with a 16k ratings gap.
I don't know how Yarden Shareef keeps doing it, but another 50 runs on the board for him. All 5 bowlers were great too.
Makes for a very interesting final two days.

Pretty sure match ratings are a myth. Rate better by 5k first two matches and lose. Get seriously out rated in game 3 and win.

Re: UAE U20 - News & Discussion
Guess who’s back? Back again? Moose is back, back again.
All the big acts go on hiatus so why can’t I?
Now let’s get into the cricket and all I can say is:
How bizarre! How bizarre!
The lads have snagged a massive scalp, without a doubt the Goliath of the youth competition. The Australians rated better by 16k but none of that even matters, the win goes down in the books and we look to turn this tour around.
Tour Match # 3
VS
Result:
win by 29 runs
The Match in a tweet: Pinch me I’m dreaming. The lads have done the unthinkable. Slain the giant.
vs
Man of the Match: Trav Field
Our best:
Yardeen Shareef - 74 off 105 balls and then two catches with the gloves. Shareef and Hadi put on a 100 run partnership during the middle overs which really set up the total and eventually got us quite close to posting 250.
Salam Ibraheem - 3/44 off his 10 overs and 4 not out with the bat. Some beautiful tight bowling from our spinners in preferred conditions meant the Aussies could never get going in the chase.
Amjad Hadi - 53 off 88 balls. Shareef’s partner in crime.
Maliq Razzaq - 2/40 off his 10 overs and contributed with a hand 20 runs.
Fahd Hussein - 34 not out off 27 balls and a catch.
Well they say on a spinners dream, bat first, bat big, make 250 and squeeze the opponent bats in the chase. This was nearly textbook (I will forgive being four runs short) and our spin bowlers were on fire
. Only two chances and neither overly costly (Gleeson was dropped on 16 and then out for 23. Field was dropped on 0 and then out for 11).
Maybe this is the Match Engine apologising to us for how it’s treated us in the last few games?
Like I know the Aussies love an underdog story but this is next level.
Around the Grounds:
Sri Lanka beat Canada by 3 wickets.
South Africa beat Bermuda by 135 runs.
Makes the rest of the week very interesting, there are three teams with two wins and three teams including us with the one win. Think we need to win both remaining games to avoid the drop as Bermuda play Canada on Friday so at least one of them will get another win.
Tune in at 0800 tomorrow as we take on South Africa.
Trust in the process

Hella win today for us
Fingers crossed we can make up for the poor start with 2 more wins and all but seal WC qualification!

NATIONAL BETRAYAL

Tour Match # 4
VS
Result:
🥲
win by 6 wickets
The Match in a tweet: South Africa take all UAE 10 wickets for a total of 183 runs and then score the required runs within the allotted overs without losing all their wickets. Simples.
Man of the Match:
Joel Fretwell
aka Exquisiteblue UAE senior national manager
Our best:
Emir Mohammad - a fighting 26 with the bat and then 1/26 off his 8 overs. This lad gave it his all today!
Kareef Dhakir - 48 not out for the skipper.
Malik Saleem - 2/59 off his 10 overs for the leggie.
Junaid Mahmoud - 49 off 83 balls for the opener.
Worth noting Fretwell was on a hattrick twice. Missed out the first time and didn’t make the same mistake the second time around.
Around the Grounds:
Sri Lanka beat Bermuda by 5 wickets.
Australia beat Canada by 26 runs.
Looking ahead:
Top three have 3 wins and bottom three all have 1 win.
Essentially turns into two do or die matches.
Australia play South Africa
- winner will promote
- loser will not
Canada play Bermuda
- loser will drop
- winner maybe stays in div 2
We play Sri Lanka
If we win
- comes down to NRR for who stays in Div 2 with the winner of Canada vs Bermuda
- also comes down to NRR for who promotes between Sri Lanka and loser of Aus vs South Africa
If Sri Lanka win
- Sri Lanka promote
- we drop
Simples.
Tune in at 0800 tomorrow to cheer the lads on to a win against Sri Lanka.

Senior National Manager takes a 6 wicket haul against the youth of his nation just to show them who’s boss and that life as a UAE player is tough. Seems like a rough way to teach the lads a lesson but I trust EBs instinct.Exquisiteblue wrote: ↑Thu Apr 01, 2021 6:03 pmSorry lads.
