I was going to say that it'll be closer than you think because I've picked a few players with next season in mind. However:

C. Martel (rm) 7-0-44-1, J. Hicks 94 (75b), R. Schneider 17 (14b)
End of over 30 (9 runs) - Ruff Royals(207-3) RR 6.90

Hicks has been on great form recently and Schmidt has put in his best performance so far.

:D I should have picked my full side, although still we wouldn't have won. Picked a really young side today.

I still had a fair amount of my good players as I want them to get experience too but I could have gone a little stronger. Possibly could have left Hicks out of the team as he's not going to play much next season due to his age.

Uneven pitch against Danger Hotspurs. It's going to be a difficult match and I would have bowled first if I had the choice.

E. Iqbal (rfm) 2-0-9-1, C. Paton 2 (7b), B. Issa 6 (5b)
End of over 18 (5 runs) - Ruff Royals(65-4) RR 3.61

That went downhill quickly. 39-0 to 58-4, or 52-1 to 58-4 they're both not pleasant reading for me.

Edit: Lost another wicket and just noticed that their spinner has taken 3 wickets. I have picked 2 spinners though so maybe they'll do just as well. I doubt it when they haven't got a decent total to defend.

There's always next week, I guess.

Not sure this is over... hopefully my best bowler in these conditions can do better when he comes on after drinks than his first spell:

F. Wako (lf) 5 0 14 0

lost the toss and having a bowl on sticky/overcast. opps doing really well so far, 165/4 with 13 overs remaining. Really need to try and restrict them as much as possible to have any chance, but to be honest this might already be too much.

I'm surprised we got as many as we did. I think we might have had a chance if we had made it to 180. It doesn't seem to be our day; 3 wickets lost to trigger talents and 5 wickets for a spinner (although the conditions don't actually punish spinners but it just seems more annoying when you do the hard work of coping with most of the seamers.)
