rotated a bit today and the result was about as expected: lost by 5 wickets. None of our bats made a significant score, the top four all out for between 12-21 runs.

Were 74/0 off 6 overs, but the usual collapse + a disappointing bowling performance meant we nearly lost from such a strong start.

A tough pitch to bat on and we won the toss and made them bat first.

We bowled them out for 82 with Ten Dam taking 4-21 and Callaway 3-8. It would be a nice way to end his career if that is Callaway's last match for the club. We got the runs we needed with about 6 overs to spare.

Gilbert scored 53 not out and Williams 47 not out as we made 192. Their batting was unstoppable though and they chased our total down with 5 overs to spare.

Despite how highly they rate, they only had 1 player on international duty compared to my 2 players away.

vital match in our relegation fight today against Relegation Reprobates. Lost the toss and put in to bat on uneven/cloudy, but would have batted anyway. Not a great start, our two best bats out cheaply, including Guaita following his century last week with a first baller this week

53/2 from 15, have three all-rounders playing for the first time this season I think, so we do bat to 9 today. Need at least 200 I reckon to be competitive ... we'll see.

144/4 from 33, their best bowler is bowled out which is a relief, took 4-38. Game on a knife edge at the moment, need to try and bat out our overs and get to a decent total.

End of over 50 (3 runs) - Ruff Royals(181-9) RR 3.62

A crumbling pitch so that's not too bad a score. We need the bowlers to do well though.

Whitehead was the key to a decent total with 81; it looks like he's enjoying playing as an opener but we'll see if he can continue that next season as well.

I'm happy with this at the break but I want to get these out before they really get a partnership going.

Overall 232,144 238,485

A big win and division 1 status is now mathematically secure.

Whitehead hit 81 and Callaway took 3-17. It just occurred to me that I might have said that Callaway had already played his last game for me and that means I probably should have played Massey.

result: won by 32 runs.

A vital win today, and whilst we're not safe yet, we're in a much better position now than before especially with 6th and 7th facing off next week. Disappointed with our batting today against an ordinary attack by Div 1 standards, but the bowlers made up for it, especially Gootjes with 4-27 from his 10.
