Ruff Royals won by 12 runs

It's taken far too long since I first started playing this game until I've finally won England SOD 1.1 but I have at last done it. :dance :party :D
Well done fella, a great achievement.
Thanks. Not a homegrown win by any stretch but a good 7-8 first team players were my youth pulls which isn't too bad. Perhaps another 2-3 played a game here or there too.

End of over 20 (6 runs) - Staindrop Village CC(138-6) RR 6.90

That would be a decent bowling effort by us in most conditions. Sadly, it's a crumbling so we're going to struggle against the top side in the league.

P. Massey (lfs) 2-0-19-0, L. Buckley 22 (18b), A. O'Keeffe 22 (21b)
End of over 11 (12 runs) - Ffoh(60-3). 85 runs required from 9 overs. RR 5.45 RRR 9.44

Dry pitch. We scored 144 which was ok although we only lost 3 wickets so perhaps we could have scored a bit quicker. Liberatore finished on 63 not out and Whitehead, who has taken over the captaincy for recently retired Albert Ten Dam, hit 38 not out.

The bowlers are being fairly economical but we've got to be careful about their batters really going for it in the last few overs.

Moses took 5-16 in what turned out to be a comfortable win. This sets up a winner takes all match against Inchigeela Angels next week. They're likely to rate over 255k and have home advantage so I think they're the favourites.

End of over 9 (8 runs) - Ruff Royals(33-2) RR 3.67

Bullock had a great start to the season but since we secured staying in the league and also went out of the promotion race he's been poor. Crumbling pitch so it's going to be quite difficult to bat on.

R. McCoombe (lfs) 8-0-43-0, N. Laurence 46 (36b), D. Passailaigue 5 (4b)
End of over 40 (12 runs) - Ruff Royals(164-7) RR 4.10

Very nice batting by Laurence to get us to an respectable score. We were struggling with our run rate until Laurence came in. He didn't quite get his half century and I may have made a mistake in not batting him higher up the order.

B. Williams (rfm) 1-1-0-0, A. Evan 0 (0b), C. Walkerden 1 (8b)
End of over 2 (2 runs) - South Hill Slammers(5-1). 160 runs required from 38 overs. RR 2.50 RRR 4.21

Early wicket for Zondeki. We need to bowl well and pick up wickets regularly.

End of over 15 (3 runs) - South Hill Slammers(68-2). 97 runs required from 25 overs. RR 4.53 RRR 3.88

Very disappointing so far. We need to get that run rate under control and pick up some more wickets now.

South Hill Slammers won by 1 wicket

Very disappointing. Walkerden, Brewer, and McCoombe all got their highest scores for South Hill Slammers. I'm not particularly looking forward to next season's youth games if this form continues.
