L. Kukadiya (lws) 9.1-1-39-4, C. Rush 0 (0b)
End of over 45 (maiden) - Ruff Royals(168-10) RR 3.73
I think I'm clutching at straws if I say this one is just about defendable. I fully expect to lose. The three early wickets really hurt us as did Clarke's failure to get a decent score and Whitehead's continual poor scores. I think Whitehead's top score in three seasons is 45 and he barely average 20 in those 3 seasons.

End of over 14 (8 runs) - St. Marks Hill Strollers(69-1). 100 runs required from 36 overs. RR 4.93 RRR 2.78
We're not going to win this one. I really need to do something about the batting; it's just not been good enough for a couple of seasons now.

Very poor batting and bowling today cost us the game and most probably any change of promotion, after batting first we ended up 188ao when we should have been expecting at least 225 against our opponents attack. After a great start by our bowlers having the reprobates 59 for 5, we then bowled poorly to allow then to knock off the total only 6 down!

Fielding/Keeping 16,837 16,149

Excellent win for us today, batting first on humid/crumbling and winning by 52 runs. Took a risk in the week by selling off two of our more experienced bats and bringing in a couple of younger ones, but one of the main reasons for that was to give Van Den Bergh more game time and he certainly repaid the faith with 75 (139) at the top of the order. Kouyate also did well for the second week running with an unbeaten 50 (41) when we looked in a bit of trouble at 117-4. Nice to see all the bowlers taking a wicket too, Mateta going at over five an over for only one tail end wicket the only slight disappointment.
Three wins and three losses to start the season, next week against Camberwell will make this either a decent first half of the season or a very good first half of the season. Feels like Egham are already champions elect and CC Deville face an enormous battle to stay up, but 2nd - 7th looks like being a real shoot out.

End of over 20 (10 runs) - Camberwell Carrots(143-6) RR 7.15
It's looking like it's going to be a tough chase on an uneven pitch against the bottom placed team.

Only made it with a ball to spare. 58 for Banerjee and 60 not out for Schwartz saw us home. I'm now 4 points clear at the top. I don't think I'm going to be at the top much longer as my best bowler will move to the seniors next week.

Taking a bit of a chance today as picked a couple of younger seniors to rest a couple of players, we are playing bottom and we are top but our opponents are certainly capable of beating us today.

End of over 17 (maiden) - Zippys Rainbow Destroyers(50-10) RR 2.94
Slow pitch and we lost the toss so had to bowl first. I picked a young team and Patterson had a great game with 6 wickets for 6 runs in his 4 overs.

We won with a little more than 3 overs to go. I thought all of my bowlers 7 did well to restrict them to 191 on a flat pitch although some were more expensive than others. We seemed to get off to a bit of a slow start with the bat but it was comfortable enough at the end with Banerjee reaching his highest score of 105 not out from 110 balls.
It was the last match for my premier fast bowler, Zondeki, and we have a big game next week against 2nd place Oxhey Players so he's going to be missed.
