In with a chance with this total, although feel we should have got more on a cloudy / flat against a team with 3 spinners.
S. Leehane (rfs) 4-0-58-1, C. Mansfield 14 (8b), C. Zulch 27 (13b)
End of over 20 (14 runs) - Crestfallen Sidekicks(202-5) RR 10.10

Batting - Middle Order 7,216 11,021

Fielding/Keeping 12,145 16,024
Overall 199,243 226,167
Crestfallen Sidekicks won by 55 runs
Suprisingly comfortable win. Looks like South Yorkshire had to play 6 bowlers to manage fatigue, which is probably why they rated lower than I was expecting. Our 4th win this year, which means we probably only need another 2 to stay uo this season. Might hold off on strengthening the squad as it looks like it might not be needed.

Ruff Royals Relegation reprobates
Batting - Top Order 14,335 14,072
Batting - Middle Order 11,781 12,194
Batting - Tail 5,042 6,219
Bowling - Seam 15,043 (12) 12,078 (8)
Bowling - Spin 13,545 (8) 13,751 (12)
Fielding/Keeping 17,468 16,557
Overall 244,219 238,805
I thought we did alright with the ball to restrict them to 130 on a slow pitch. Then we batted a bit slowly and lost wickets regularly. We were 4 runs short of the win.
Relegation reprobates won by 3 runs.
My first senior T20 defeat of the season.

The Raging Speed Horns vs South Hill Slammers
League Youth 2.1
Weather Windy
Pitch Dry
Well, despite last week's loss we're still clinging on to top place by our fingernails. Two other teams are currently on 16 points, and I'm playing one of 'em today. As I've lamented over the last couple of weeks, my youth team is in decline, but I'm kind of hoping we're bottoming out on the sine wave. One more top player will leave us in a couple of weeks, but fingers crossed the "in development" kids will start to pick up the slack.
Playing at home today on a dry to help the young spinners, we've opted to bat first and post a good total to bowl at. As luck would have it the oppo only have one spinner, so batting has proven slightly easier than anticipated.
Currently we are -
End of over 36 (6 runs) - The Raging Speed Horns(279-7) RR 7.75
- see if you can get 300 lads!

Re: England League and Cup Discussion
The big total made the bowling easy and -
Result: The Raging Speed Horns won by 126 runs
Very pleased with that performance - similar tactics and ratings to last week, but this time everyone did as they were instructed, which makes a pleasant change!
Match Ratings
The Raging Speed Horns South Hill Slammers
Batting - Top Order 7,619 7,058
Batting - Middle Order 5,074 5,669
Batting - Tail 3,387 3,564
Bowling - Seam 4,633 (16) 5,317 (32)
Bowling - Spin 6,080 (24) 5,720 (8)
Fielding/Keeping 7,764 9,011
Overall 111,733 115,623
Bowling is still very poor, but as long as the batsmen are doing their job, life should prove easy, and I wouldn't fear anyone with less than a 10k ratings advantage over us.
This result puts us back on top, but now with a 4 point gap and the best NRR in the league. Ratings are still bargain basement though (last but one in fact!), so I'd still say that on paper, our chances of promotion are low.
EDITED - wrong match ratings pasted!

We just drop back into the relegation zone. The positives are that Buck picked up 4-46 and Mitchell scored 41.
I'm still looking for my first win of the week. Tomorrow we get the chance to be beaten by Relegation Reprobates for the third time this week!

Youth team continue to overperform! Opponents batted first but (as seems to be happening a lot recently) didn't accelerate at all despite having lots of wickets in hand. Our two best batsmen got set and were able to get us home quite comfortably in the end.

Yay! It's SOD day! Well, it's my FTP raison d'etre anyway
Anyhoo, we're playing Ffoh on our usual pitch -
The Raging Speed Horns vs Ffoh
League One Day 1.1
Weather Cloudy
Pitch Sticky
Bugger, just lost a wicket
.
Ffoh are just above the relegation zone and we're 3rd. Top two play today as well, so depending on results, we might sneak into second spot
Currently -
End of over 8 (6 runs) - The Raging Speed Horns(34-1) RR 4.25

Morning sparky - I'm batting first too - I find that when the team actually follow the orders set, it seems to work, but batting second, the NRR rubber band tends to mess with the RR triggering wickets by seemingly causing the team to panic if they're not within some imagined target corridor.

Drinks break and we're very solid at =
End of over 25 (7 runs) - The Raging Speed Horns(107-2) RR 4.28
Charlton anchoring the innings again. This guy has always been the baby (3-4 years younger than his mates) of the top order - he's been playing up there for a while now but generally seems to deliver. I imagine that has something to do with always keeping him on defensive orders - survivability plus the accumulator talent mean he punches above his weight. Sitting on 38no - keep going fella!
