Crestfallen Sidekicks won by 2 wickets
M. Wijnaldum (rws) 6.5-0-36-1, C. Mansfield 19 (21b), K. Carson 11 (20b)
End of over 44 (5 runs) - Crestfallen Sidekicks(179-8) RR 4.07

Scraped home! 9th wicket partnership between one of our A/Rs and a tailender with finisher talent got us home! Would not have been happy with a 55k reversal, which was very much on the cards, especially given the quality of the bowling attack we were facing.

Vivi Crestfallen Sidekicks
Batting - Top Order 11,386 11,713

Overall 185,810 230,315
Wow - closer than it should have been, and damned right about a 55k reversal - I'd've been contemplating a rage quit there

Relegation reprobates won by 3 wickets

Relegation reprobates Ruff Royals
Batting - Top Order 14,135 14,201
Batting - Middle Order 12,205 12,702
Batting - Tail 6,320 5,023
Bowling - Seam 13,282 (20) 15,026 (30)
Bowling - Spin 13,995 (30) 13,749 (20)
Fielding/Keeping 16,723 17,732
Overall 243,044 248,457

I think I hate this league; 4 points off top spot but 4 points off the bottom spot too. Promotion or relegation could be mine this season.

It pretty much went like I said earlier. We got an okay but lowish total. They scored quickly to start with so were never in any run rate trouble. This time we picked up 3 late wickets to make it look vaguely respectable.

It's actually 45k reading it again - think I was too relieved to do the maths correctly the first time! Would still have been a record reversal for me I think, I can only remember losing with 40k better ratings before.
We're still in with an outside chance of promotion from Div 3, but that match hasn't done our NRR any good and we are now probably going to need to pull back two wins on the leaders to promote now.

Obviously still would have expected a more comfortable result with the ratings disparity, but RF, LF, RFM, RFM, RWS is just a way way better attack on cloudy/sticky than RFM/RM/RM/RFS/LFS so I can't say I'm overly surprised it ended up being a close game. Had the ratings difference been say 25K I would have made your opponents favourites to be honest.

Ruff Royals won by 7 wickets

Camberwell Carrots Ruff Royals
Batting - Top Order 7,096 8,746
Batting - Middle Order 5,016 5,183
Batting - Tail 3,533 3,646
Bowling - Seam 6,346 (12) 6,544 (16)
Bowling - Spin 7,670 (8) 6,788 (4)
Fielding/Keeping 8,093 9,756
Overall 117,713 128,889

I had forgotten what it felt like to win (it looks like our fans dropped from buoyant to jovial)! The bowlers restricted them to 118 on an uneven pitch and then the batters comfortably chased it. Mitchell got us off to a good start of our innings with 47 and then Howe saw us home with 47 not out.

Bowling - Spin 0 (0) 8,471 (4)
Fielding/Keeping 4,858 10,299
Overall 88,205 125,869

Result: wolfberries won by 10 wickets

Our second ten wicket win on the run in the YT20 format, top by just four points but with a decent NRR advantage.
We really need to get out of division 2 in both the youth formats, thankfully we only lose one more player this season due to age.

J. Westerveld (rfs) 4-1-16-4, R. Drake 1 (1b), A. Aboobucker 6 (6b)
End of over 20 (6 runs) - Crestfallen Sidekicks(114-9) RR 5.70

A dry pitch. Westerveld did very well with 4-16 and I think that we are in a good position to chase this.

The chase is proving much more difficult than I was expecting and it's now looking like it's going to be a loss.

R. Kapur (rm) 2-0-7-2, J. House 10 (9b), C. Dickerson 0 (2b)
End of over 8 (2 runs) - Ruff Royals(45-4). 70 runs required from 12 overs. RR 5.62 RRR 5.83

The run rate required hasn't been a problem yet but we just keep on losing wickets. If it wasn't for a dropped catch Kapur would have got a hattrick and we'd be in an even worse position.

Picking Tampling cost me this match. He made 1 from 4 balls, and then dropped Dickenson who went on to make the match winning run-a-ball 30.

I'm happy to pick up the win; it was looking very bad for me. The House/Dickerson partnership was huge for my lot; I'll have to send Tampling something nice to thank them for the drop.

The return leg might be your title coronation the way things are going! We've got a big match against Yorkshire Tykes next week. If we can sneak a win there then it'll keep us out of relegation trouble.

To be honest I'm not sure HTF we lost this, bowled first but we gave away 201 in cloudy and dry conditions!
Our WC spinners gave away 51 runs from his 4 overs!
Oh well, it's T20!

I was much more confident that my side would get promotion before last week's loss. Still very tight at the top and I'll cross my fingers that Wolfberries can do me a favour next week.

Three more win for you and you'll likely be safe. Two could well be enough; I think you'll be fine and end up top 4.
