I think that's very chaseable although wouldn't completely say I've worked out what's good on even yet.
Thankfully we chased it down, I'm still trying to work out what's a good total is since the change in the ME.

Currently, my thinking is that there's no such thing as a good total as pretty much anything can be chased. I admit that my view on this may be wildly skewed by my higher rating side being unable to defend 322 on a slow pitch in SOD a couple of weeks ago.

Close but we lost with 3 balls to spare. It was pretty much what I was expecting after losing the toss and being made to bat first.

We are just a bit too young or perhaps I'm just making excuses for them. 4 players over 20, 1 other over 19 and all the rest younger and I'll be losing 2 of those aged 20+ in the next 3 weeks. We're bottom of the league at the halfway point and 2 points off safety so I'll just have to get the team to keep on fighting hard and try to pick up the points that we need to stay up.

Since the changes it certainly appears that you're right in this, I've seen some big totals chased.

South London's Number One CC vs The Raging Speed Horns
League One Day 1.1

Weather Sunny
Pitch Uneven

A visit to the eagly one's ground today. We lost the toss and have been put in to bat. I would have bowled first too, but I still trust us to make a reasonable total (that'll jinx it!).

After an indifferent start to the season, we've won our last three matches - let's make it four today :thumbsup

I was about to report that we were chugging along nicely at 95-2 at drinks, then a wicket fell on the last ball :P

Oh gawd - there goes another!

So...we're now in a less than fragrant situation ...

M. Franca (rf) 8-0-21-3, H. Charlton 42 (68b), C. Gatehouse 4 (6b)
End of over 28 (8 runs) - The Raging Speed Horns(108-4) RR 3.86

Franca is playing havoc with my guys - eagles123 has pushed his overs in early for maximum damage, and it's worked a charm. Let's hope we can weather through to something over 200 :(

Didn't quite bat out our overs, but a possible match-saving 119 from Charlton means we did make it past 200 -

End of over 48 (7 runs) - The Raging Speed Horns(223-10) RR 4.65

At least we've got something to bowl at. It amazes me that week in, week out, our youngest and least experienced bat out-performs all the national and ex-national players around him - no complaints though.

Should be more than enough on a sunny/dry. Luckmini bailed us out with a mammoth 176, unusual to see a score that big in a competitive game. He came within a few overs of carrying his bat! Not much from the rest of the batters however.

S. Claessen (rf) 10-0-70-0, A. Aboobucker 6 (11b), R. Kapur 35 (26b)
End of over 50 (7 runs) - Crestfallen Sidekicks(337-6) RR 6.74

I had that last season. My weakest batsmen 'on paper' was the most successful and consistent across the season, while the far higher-waged/more experienced batsmen often contributed very little.

Bugger.

Had to go out, so missed the last 15 overs, but looks like the oppo's middle order delivered the goods. My bowlers just couldn't dislodge 'em. If my one strike bowler doesn't perform, then we do struggle a bit, and 1-49 by our demon LF doesn't cut it on uneven. Can't wait for the kids to grow up a bit so I can introduce some FM's into the attack

The numbers -

Match Ratings
South London's Number One CC The Raging Speed Horns
Batting - Top Order 14,422 14,845
Batting - Middle Order 12,234 11,111
Batting - Tail 6,276 4,392
Bowling - Seam 14,123 (40) 14,369 (30)
Bowling - Spin 13,051 (10) 15,298 (20)
Fielding/Keeping 17,567 18,428
Overall 247,704 245,994

Not much in it, but eagles123 brought a more balanced attack to the fight, and it paid dividends. Particularly impressive was his RF Franca (NBB), who did a demolition job on our openers. I've got a NBB too, but he's a bloomin' RM :P

Ah well, we're still third, but 8 points off the pace now.

Close game, could have gone either way for sure. Important win for us though, keeps us in with the pack ... 4 teams with a 3 wins 4 losses record so far - gonna be an extremely tight relegation battle.

Snakey's Kent Stars won by 6 wickets

Ruff Royals Snakey's Kent Stars
Batting - Top Order 14,319 13,782
Batting - Middle Order 12,668 12,727
Batting - Tail 4,979 6,476
Bowling - Seam 14,852 (30) 12,780 (30)
Bowling - Spin 13,652 (20) 13,942 (20)
Fielding/Keeping 17,724 16,826
Overall 247,921 242,172

We lost the toss and were made to bat on a sticky pitch. We got off to a great start and were 123-1 but we then started to struggle. We ended up 210 all out.

Our bowlers were pretty toothless and they were not helped by a some missed chances towards the end.

Ruff Royals won by 7 wickets

South Hill Slammers Ruff Royals
Batting - Top Order 7,401 8,883
Batting - Middle Order 5,362 5,184
Batting - Tail 3,676 3,650
Bowling - Seam 5,547 (16) 6,615 (16)
Bowling - Spin 5,808 (4) 6,905 (4)
Fielding/Keeping 9,294 9,853
Overall 117,960 130,142

A very handy win which was largely down to some excellent bowling. Buck was the star with 5-15, which included a hat trick, and meant we needed 123 to win. Marwat was great with the bat in his final game in this competition with 65 from 36 balls.

8 points clear of the relegation zone now which is much needed as we're losing Marwat next week and have some players away on interntional duty then too.
