Re: [U20] Announcements
3rd game vs Pakistan on a Uneven pitch with Sunny conditions expected.
Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bowl first.
Bangladesh faced a resilient Pakistan batting lineup. Opener, S.Laeeq led the charge with an unbeaten 72 (59), supported by N.Aamer who also remained not out, scoring 71 (59). Despite an early loss, Pakistan managed to post a competitive total of 145/1 in their 20 overs. Bangladesh's bowlers found it difficult to break the partnership between Laeeq (dropped twice) and Aamer, with H.Kapoor being the sole wicket-taker.
In response, Bangladesh started on the back foot as they lost wickets at regular intervals, making it challenging to keep up with the RRR. Captain & WK N.Samad top-scored with an aggressive 61* (42). His efforts, along with M.Shazada's unbeaten 23* (18), brought Bangladesh close, but they ultimately fell short, finishing at 140/6 in their 20 overs. Pakistan's bowling attack, led by F. Shahzad who took 3/26, managed to maintain control in the crucial stages.
MOTM: Opener, S.Laeeq 72* (59)

Final game vs UAE on a Green pitch with Sunny conditions expected.
UAE won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Post Tour Review:
Our recent T20 World Cup campaign has unfortunately come to a disappointing end, with Bangladesh U20 losing all five matches. Here’s a brief overview of our performance:
1st Match vs Zimbabwe: On an uneven pitch with sunny conditions, Zimbabwe won by 5 wickets.
2nd Match vs New Zealand: On another uneven pitch with cloudy conditions, New Zealand comfortably chased down our target.
3rd Match vs Pakistan: Despite a strong effort from our middle order, Pakistan outperformed us on a sunny day with another uneven pitch.
4th Match vs Canada: On a flat pitch with cloudy conditions, Canada clinched victory on the last ball in a thrilling encounter.
Final Match vs UAE: On a green pitch, UAE secured a comfortable win, highlighting our struggle throughout the tournament.
Despite having superior match ratings, particularly with a deeper batting lineup and better spinners, our bowlers were not well-suited to the pitches we encountered. Additionally, our batting, which has been decent in the past, failed to perform up to expectations.
As the manager, I acknowledge that our team had already peaked before this tournament, and the negative results were perhaps overdue considering our recent successful tours. I apologise for the disappointing performance and assure you that we will learn from this experience to avoid a repeat in the future.
Next season will be my last with Bangladesh. I will organise a final youth pull competition to help future managers. Players from our first youth pull competition should start emerging once my tenure concludes. If you’re interested in taking over or getting involved, please contact the management team.
Thank you for your continued support of Bangladeshi cricket. We win and lose together. We’ve already qualified for the EOS OD WC next season, so our focus will shift to preparing for that competition. Let’s aim to end on a high note.
Thank you for reading, and see you in a few weeks.
Regards,

Re: [U20] Announcements
Hello guys,
Welcome back to another season of cricket!
I'd like to take a moment to acknowledge the contributions of Brunel37 and Turbz, who have vacated their assistant manager roles to take up positions with the Bermuda and Bangladesh national teams, respectively. A big thank you to both of them for their hard work and dedication during our time together.
I’d also like to extend a warm welcome to Noshto & UtopiaRay, who have joined us as assistant managers. This is the first time these aspiring managers have taken up national positions, and who knows, one day they might be leading the team. Welcome aboard!
Regards

1st game vs New Zealand on a Dry pitch with Windy conditions expected.
Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first.
Bangladesh struggled to maintain momentum after a decent start. Contributions from A.Ashraf 33 (68), R.Bhatia 23 (41), and S.Shariff 21 (21) helped build some foundation, but regular wickets kept them in check. A.Kamal 33 (48) and R.Dravid 28 (51) stitched together a crucial 62 run partnership for the 6th wicket, giving Bangladesh a fighting chance. However, once their stand was broken, New Zealand tightened their grip, restricting Bangladesh to a below par 202/9 in their 50 overs. E.Jay 3/44 and F.McAtamney 3/23 were standout bowlers for New Zealand, taking 3 wickets apiece.
New Zealand started their chase brightly, with openers M.Chapman 41 68) and O.Feltham 40 (69) putting on a solid 84 run stand for the 1st wicket. Bangladesh fought back as P.Dravid stepped up, taking 4 wickets, leaving New Zealand in some trouble at 126/4. R.Le Lievre 47 (63) held his nerve despite the middle order collapse and kept the chase alive. P.Dravid’s superb 6/30 gave Bangladesh hope, but New Zealand's lower order guided their team to victory, finishing on 203/8 in 47.5 overs, winning the match by 2 wickets.

2nd game vs Zimbabwe on a Crumbling pitch with Cloudy conditions expected.
Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first.
Bangladesh struggled against Zimbabwe's disciplined bowling attack. Despite a few starts, from I.Hassan 35 (55), A.Kamal 25 (67) & A.Ashraf 22 (26), the Bangladesh batsmen were unable to build substantial partnerships. F.Masekela was the star with the ball, taking 4/34, while W.Mbwando and A.O'Keeffe chipped in with crucial breakthroughs. Bangladesh were bowled out for 145 in 43.3 overs.
In response, Zimbabwe made a steady start, with G.Nyumbu anchoring the innings with a well made 49 (79). Though Bangladesh picked up some wickets, Zimbabwe remained in control. 3rd game vs Bermuda on a Dry pitch with Windy conditions expected.
Bermuda won the toss and elected to bat first.
Bermuda started their innings with a promising partnership between M.Sanson 50 (63) & K.Warner 42 (69), who added 72 runs for the 2nd wicket. A much needed win for Bangladesh to keep survival hopes alive. Up next is Australia, followed by Sri Lanka in the final game. We’ll need to win at least one to have any chance of avoiding the drop.

4th game vs Australia on a Dry pitch with Windy conditions expected.
Australia won the toss and elected to bat first.
Bangladesh, opting for a spin heavy attack, made a solid start by keeping things tight and taking wickets at regular intervals. Australia found themselves at 70/3 after 20 overs, but D.Gemmell 66 (75) & R.Malceski 75 (76) turned the tide with a brilliant 114 run partnership off 109 balls. Australia looked set for a score of over 250 before Gemmell’s dismissal triggered a collapse. R.Dravid's flipper removed Gemmell, starting a chain reaction that saw Australia lose their last 7 wickets for just 47 runs, finishing all out for 231 off 48.1 overs.
In reply, Bangladesh’s top & middle order played crucial roles with opener S.Talukhdar scoring 50 (64) to set a solid foundation. S.Shariff’s unbeaten 56* (85) anchored the chase while contributions from A.Ashraf 20 (21), R.Bhatia 37 (48) & A.Kamal 38 (52) helped Bangladesh chase down the target comfortably. They finished on 233/5 in 47.3 overs, winning the match by 5 wickets.

Bangladesh’s tour started poorly, losing to New Zealand by 2 wickets, followed by a dominant Zimbabwe performance that left them 0/2 and in a relegation battle.
Facing relegation, Bangladesh secured a crucial win against Bermuda, keeping their Division 1 hopes alive. Needing to win 1 of their final 2 games, Bangladesh pulled off a shock victory against Australia, boosting their survival chances.
Though they lost to Sri Lanka, Australia’s win over Bermuda ensured Bangladesh stayed in Division 1 for another season. Finishing in 4th position with 2 wins and 3 losses & living to fight another day!
