I can't believe what I just watched. Murat has been rubbish all week and he decides to put on a simple 38 off 20 to win the game with three balls to spare.

UAE U20 won by 1 wicket

V. Engelsman (rm) 3.3-0-23-0, A. Abdel 0 (0b), M. Murat 38 (20b)
End of over 20 (6 runs) - UAE U20(141-9) RR 7.05

Keep the faith mate. Might be a bigger score then we'd like to chase but T20 is a weird one
Just gonna quote this for you hep
It doesn't normally go in our favour though!

What’s better than 1 UAE win write up? 2 UAE win write ups!
Some would say I missed yesterday’s write up because I went out and ate chicken schnitzel at a pub. I would say that’s absolutely correct and it was delicious so I don’t apologise.

Tour Match # 3
VS Sri Lanka
Result: :thumbsup
UAE win by 6 wickets.
Crowd: 13,000
Weather: Humid
Pitch: Green

The Match in a Tweet: Only 7 wickets on a green deck. 3 from a Leggie and 4 from mediums. Interesting 🧐 🤔

Man of the Match: Ezra Schofield (Sri Lanka)
3 wickets for the Leggie!

Our best:
Gadil Khatib - 2/9 off his 4 overs. Wildly economical!

Wahid Suhail - 35 from 18 balls including four fours and managed

Around the Grounds:
Scotland beat Zimbabwe by 54 runs.

Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to bowl first on a Slow Pitch on a Humid Day.
Scotland posted 148 4 wickets down.
Scotland rolled Zimbabwe for 94 courtesy of a Sandy Burns five fa!

USA beat Netherlands by 4 wickets.
USA won the toss and elected to bowl first on a Dry Pitch on a Humid day.
Netherlands posted 128 6 wickets down.
USA chased the runs down with 4 wickets and 1 ball to spare.

Tour Match # 4
VS Netherland

Crowd: 17,500
Weather: Humid
Pitch: Slow

The Match in a Tweet: Nervous!

Man of the Match: Robert-Jan de Vreeze (Netherlands)
68 runs from the Dutch opener!

Our best:
Muadh Murat - 2/39 from his over and then a match winning 38! Seven 4s and a six taking the game by the horns when he had no right to. The six to win the game as well!

Kadar Sad - a catch, a stumping and 48 runs!

Gadil Khatib - 2/21 off his 4 overs.

Anwar Adbel - 2/26 off his 4 overs and was out in the middle for the win. Fortunately didn’t have to face a ball.

Around the Grounds:
Zimbabwe beat Sri Lanka by 13 runs.

Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bowl first on a Slow Pitch on a Humid Day.
Scotland posted 138 5 wickets down.
Sri Lanka could only manage 125 in response.

USA beat Scotland by 7 wickets.
USA won the toss and elected to bowl first on a Slow Pitch on a Humid day.
Scotland posted 124 7 wickets down.
USA chased the runs down with 7 wickets and 3 balls to spare.

Everyone but Netherlands can mathematically make promotion tomorrow which means WE NEED TO WIN TOMORROW. Do that and let the rest of the dominoes fall into place.

Tune in at 0900 tomorrow as we take on USA.

Glad you had something happy to write about, Moose.

We've secured T20 WC qualification with yesterdays win, however todays match is even more important for the T20 WC in two seasons time. A win could mean promotion, and a loss could mean demotion.

Tour Match # 5
VS USA
Result: :thumbsdown
USA win by 5 wickets.
Crowd: 22,000
Weather: Sunny
Pitch: Slow

The Match in a Tweet: When you try your best but you don’t succeed.

Man of the Match: Michael Long (USA)

Our best:
Tawfiq Ghafur - 2/26 from the Leggies 4 overs.

Isra’il Kaleel - 1/23 from his 4 overs and a handy low order 18 with the bat.

Around the Grounds:
Scotland beat Sri Lanka by 3 wickets.

Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first on a Slow Pitch on a sunny Day.
Sri Lanka posted 126 5 wickets down.
Sscotland chased it down with 3 wickets and 2 balls to spare.

Netherlands beat Zimbabwe by 3 wickets.
Netherlands won the toss and elected to bowl first on a Slow Pitch on a Sunny day.
Zimbabwe posted 111 9 wickets down.
Netherlands chased the runs down with 3 wickets and 8 balls to spare.

I wasn’t kidding when I said we needed to win to promote. A win would have done it and USA snag that second promotion spot. Scotland promoted top with the 4 wins. We finished on two wins and 1 draw equal with Zimbabwe. We took third spot with the better NRR. Sri Lanka and Netherlands will take the trip down to Div 3.

A week off and we will be back on the 16th of August for a senior one day tour!

Hope everyone’s youth pulls are blessed 😇

Solid write ups as always, Moose :thumbsup

We set out to survive the division and qualify for the WC. We achieved both of those, so can't be too disappointed with the day 5 result.

Did someone say an u20 one day tour starts tomorrow?!?

We’ve won hosting rights for this tour and have asked our mates in Australia to host. Their curators will be instructed to dish up some delicious pitches (crumbling, slow, dry - in that preference).

Matches are 00:00 FTP time and we have England up first.

I like the depth of our squad this week. Very well rounded.

All eyes on Akram Ata making his debut. He has scored 350 runs in his three friendlies leading up to this.

Won the toss and elected to bat.

We were doing so well and set up nicely by Fattah and Kamal, however we collapsed during the last 10 overs and probably about 10-20 runs short against a strong batting lineup.

C. Hansberry (rfs) 10-1-49-5, J. Habib 21 (15b), T. Ghafur 9 (10b)
End of over 50 (6 runs) - UAE U20(224-8) RR 4.48

Hopefully Abdel and Ghafur are in the mood today.
