3rd game vs West Indies on a Dry pitch with Sunny conditions expected.

Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bowl first.

West Indies struggled to get going as Bangladesh’s bowlers dominated from the start. Haque’s 2/16 set the tone, while Shazada's 3/20 further dismantled the West Indies lineup. Only I.Rowe showed some resistance with an unbeaten 26, but lacked support as wickets tumbled around him. West Indies were bowled out for 89 in 18.2 overs

In response, Bangladesh chased down the target comfortably. Opener S.Srivastav played a calm innings, scoring 26 (23) at the top. N.Samad 33* (33) & I.Shariff (22* off 23) then finished things off as Bangladesh cruised to an 8 wicket victory, reaching 90/2 in 14.2 overs.

4th game vs England on a Slow pitch with Cloudy conditions expected.

Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bowl first.

England started on the back foot, losing D.Noack for a duck on the first ball of the match, but gradually grew into the game. S.Scannell anchored the innings with a well made 35 (35), while R.Edmonds injected some momentum with a crucial 38 (33). G.Hazell chipped in with 25, taking England to a total of 127/5 off 20 overs. A.Gavaskar bowled superbly, taking 2/13.

In response, Bangladesh’s chase looked steady but fell short by just 4 runs. A.Kamal played a crucial knock of 37 (34), while S.Shariff contributed 35 (37). However, key run-outs of Shariff and captain N.Samad (15 off 12) late in the innings hurt Bangladesh’s momentum, and they could only manage 123/8 off 20 overs.

MOTM: S.Scannell 35 (35) & 2 run-outs.

Match Ratings

Batting - Top Order 9,108 9,461

After the loss against England, we head into the final game aiming to avoid relegation. Our fate is still in our hands, a win against Canada guarantees our safety, otherwise, we'll be relying on other results.

A few vital contributions from the lower order L.McClendon 11* (12) & O.Merritt 14* (9), helped Canada post a total of 129/7 off their 20 overs.

Bangladesh’s chase began steadily, with openers S.Srivastav 52 (50) and A.Kamal 16 (20) putting up a solid 50+ run partnership. However, just as things seemed to be under control, Canada fought back, reducing Bangladesh from 86/1 to 101/5. With 9 runs needed off the final over and 3 wickets in hand, Bangladesh clinched victory on the last ball with a boundary, finishing at 132/7 off 20 overs, securing a 3 wicket win.

Post Tour Review:
Bangladesh began their T20 campaign with an unexpected victory over Australia, who failed to set their orders. New Zealand dominated Bangladesh in the 2nd match, chasing down the total with ease

In our 3rd game against West Indies, we couldn’t have asked for a better performance, dominating with both bat and ball. This set the stage for a crucial showdown against England in the 4th match, where a win would have put us in contention for the title. Despite being in control for the majority of the game, we fell short by just 4 runs, with the English bowlers pulling off a stunning comeback.

Heading into the final game against Canada, the pressure was on as we needed a win to ensure our survival in Division 1. In a tense contest that came down to the last ball, we managed to clinch victory, securing our place in Div 1 for another season.

Overall, we finished 2nd in the table with 12 points, recording 3 wins and 2 losses.

Was a good tour in the end, we were even in with a shout of winning the title but could not bring home what seemed like a straightforward chase on Day 4, and even Day 5 turned out to be a bit nerve-racking in the end.

Well done on keeping the Division 1 spot.

1st game vs New Zealand on a Dry pitch with Cloudy conditions expected.

Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bowl first.

New Zealand started off well with their openers putting on a solid 50+ run partnership. However, Bangladesh fought back with wickets falling at regular intervals. Captain J.Close’s fighting knock of 52 (71) was crucial, but New Zealand lost momentum, collapsing from 173/5 to 189 all out in 44.5 overs. Bangladesh’s spinners dominated, with R.Dravid leading the charge with figures of 5/33, while M.Nayak chipped in with 3/19.

In response, Bangladesh faced an early setback, but opener S.Srivastav’s composed 65 (117) and S.Shariff’s 53 (77) anchored the innings. The duo put together a crucial 86 run stand for the 3rd wicket. Despite losing a few quick wickets towards the end, Bangladesh managed to hold their nerve, clinching victory by 3 wickets, reaching 190/7 in 47.3 overs.

That was a great performance from Dravid and hope he can pull out a few more like those, given that conditions are supposed to favor the spinners but on Crumbling you just never know.

We definitely need him to step up against Australia tomorrow. From the highs after winning the 1st game to the low after today’s heavy defeat to Sri Lanka. We’ll need something special tomorrow.

2nd game vs Sri Lanka on a Dry pitch with Cloudy conditions expected.

Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Sri Lanka got off to a strong start with the bat, their openers putting on 76 runs for the 1st wicket. A.Biyatries 99 (129) and C.Pitigala 99 (97) then formed an outstanding partnership for the 3rd wicket, adding 167 runs and setting a dominant platform. Bangladesh struggled to break through, as Sri Lanka posted a commanding total of 269/4 in 50 overs.

In response, Bangladesh faltered, losing wickets regularly. M.Vatuvei 46 (76), K.Dravid 46 (81), and M.Nayak 38 (44) were the only batsmen to make notable contributions. Despite their efforts, Bangladesh could only manage 188 all out in 46 overs, giving Sri Lanka a comfortable 81 run victory.

3rd game vs Australia on a Crumbling pitch with Cloudy conditions expected.

Australia won the toss and elected to bat first.

Bangladesh bowled well in the early stages, taking key wickets and keeping Australia in check. However, Australia’s captain S.Renwick, dropped twice on the 12th and 42nd over, anchored the innings with a gritty 111* (145). He found excellent support from R.Bew, who smashed 81* (74). Their 155 run partnership for the 4th wicket lifted Australia to 240/3 after 50 overs.

In reply, Bangladesh had a promising start with a solid 50+ opening stand. However, wickets fell at regular intervals, with contributions from M.Vatuvei (39), A.Kamal (31), and late order runs from M.Nayak (30) and S.Rayudu (29) proving insufficient. Despite the lower order’s effort, Bangladesh were bowled out for 205 in 48.1 overs, falling 35 runs short.

MOTM: S.Renwick 111* (145)

Game 4 vs England in Dry/Cloudy conditions.

Bangladesh U20 won the toss and opted to bat first in what was a pressure game in hopes of avoiding relegation.

Openers provided a decent start and the team was going steadily along, however we then lost 2 wickets each either side of the drinks break which meant we somehow slipped from 89/1 to 117/5. Lower order then staged a recovery and managed to guide us to 225/7. Opener Nuruddin Samad was the top scorer with 51 but contributions at the end from Ruby Rewcastle (31* off 26 balls) and Mahfuz Nawaz (18* off 13 balls) were what got us to 225/7.

Had a good start with the ball with an early runout and another wicket in the powerplay. Our spinners tried to put the chokehold on them but their keeper Samit Dries was able to keep the RRR under control for the entire chase despite losing partners around him, and despite them being in positions on trouble at various points of the innings, like at 57/3 or 184/7, Dries always managed to find a partner willing to support him and it proved to be the case at the death, as a vital 20* off 26 from their number 10 got them over the line despite us getting the wicket of Dries with them still 18 runs away from the target to complete a narrow 2 wicket win.
Pick of the bowlers was Ravi Dravid with figures of 10-0-39-2.

Bangladesh U20 v England U20 >> Match Ratings
Match Ratings
Bangladesh U20 England U20
Batting - Top Order 9,424 9,650
Batting - Middle Order 8,943 8,003
Batting - Tail 6,038 4,360
Bowling - Seam 8,918 (20) 9,696 (20)
Bowling - Spin 9,909 (30) 9,781 (30)
Fielding/Keeping 10,890 11,124
Overall 171,822 165,804

This loss leaves us at the bottom of the table with just 4 points still, and despite it not looking good we still have a chance of avoiding relegation.
The calculators have been out but the main thing is that we have to beat Canada U20 by at least 88 runs or chase the target in 40 overs or less.
